Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the Vilcome DisplayPort Switch 8K Splitter. This device allows for flexible DisplayPort signal management, supporting both 2-in-1-out and 1-in-2-out configurations. It is designed for high-resolution video and audio transmission.
Safety Information
- Ensure all cables are securely connected before powering on devices.
- Use only the provided USB power cable or a compatible 5V USB power source.
- Avoid exposing the device to moisture or extreme temperatures.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device. Contact support if issues arise.
Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your Vilcome DisplayPort Switch:
- Power Connection: Connect the included USB power cable to the DC 5V port on the switch and to a 5V USB power source (e.g., a computer USB port or a USB wall adapter). This power connection is essential for stable operation and to prevent screen flickering or black screens, especially in 1-in-2-out mode.
- DisplayPort Cable Requirements: Use standard DisplayPort 1.4 cables for all connections to ensure optimal performance and resolution support.
- Connection Modes: The switch supports two primary modes:
- 2-in-1-out Mode: Connect two DisplayPort source devices (e.g., PC1, PC2) to the DP1 and DP2 input ports on the switch. Connect one DisplayPort display (e.g., Monitor) to the DP output port.
- 1-in-2-out Mode: Connect one DisplayPort source device (e.g., PC) to the DP input port on the switch. Connect two DisplayPort displays (e.g., Monitor 1, Monitor 2) to the DP1 and DP2 output ports.

Ensure all connections are firm. The device is plug-and-play, requiring no driver installation.
Operating Instructions
The Vilcome DisplayPort Switch features a single button for switching between connected devices or displays.
- Switching Sources (2-in-1-out Mode): If you have two source devices connected to the DP1 and DP2 input ports and one display connected to the output, press the "SELECT" button on the switch to toggle between the two input sources. Only one source can be displayed at a time.
- Switching Displays (1-in-2-out Mode): If you have one source device connected to the DP input port and two displays connected to the DP1 and DP2 output ports, press the "SELECT" button to switch the signal between the two output displays. Only one display can be active at a time.
- Display Modes (Windows Laptops):
- Extended Mode: For Windows laptops, the switch supports extended mode, allowing different content to be displayed on the two output screens (though not simultaneously active).
- Mirror Mode: The switch also supports mirror mode, where identical content is displayed on the active output screen.
- Converter Compatibility: The input side supports USB-C to DP/mini DP to DP cables or USB-C hubs. The output side supports DP to HDMI/VGA/DVI converters. Note that using a converter may reduce the maximum supported resolution.

Maintenance
- Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Store the switch in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Troubleshooting
- No display or flickering screen:
- Ensure the USB power cable is connected and providing sufficient power to the switch. This is a common cause for display issues, especially in 1-in-2-out configurations.
- Verify that all DisplayPort cables are standard DP 1.4 and are securely connected.
- Check the resolution and refresh rate settings on your source device. The maximum supported resolution depends on your source, monitor, and cables.
- Test with different DisplayPort cables if possible.
- Only one display works in 1-in-2-out mode:
This is expected behavior. The Vilcome DisplayPort Switch is designed to output to only one display at a time in 1-in-2-out mode. It is not a splitter for simultaneous display on two screens.
- Resolution is lower than expected:
- Confirm that your source device, monitor, and DisplayPort cables all support the desired resolution and refresh rate (e.g., 8K@60Hz, 4K@120Hz).
- If using a DP to HDMI/VGA/DVI converter, note that resolution may be reduced due to converter limitations.
