Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your DDcafor 820CB Garage Door Safety Sensor Kit. This safety sensor system is designed to prevent accidents by detecting obstructions in the path of a closing garage door. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety.
Safety Information
Always disconnect power to the garage door opener before performing any installation or maintenance. Failure to do so may result in electric shock or injury. Ensure all wiring connections are secure and correctly polarized. The safety sensors are a critical safety feature; do not bypass or disable them. Regularly test the sensors to confirm proper operation.

Installation Instructions
Follow these steps to install your DDcafor 820CB Garage Door Safety Sensor Kit. Ensure the garage door opener is disconnected from the power source before beginning.
- Mounting the Sensors:
The safety reversing sensors must be mounted on either side of the garage door, no more than 6 inches (15 cm) above the garage floor. The sensors should face each other, with the invisible beam aligned across the garage door opening. Use the provided brackets, screws, and wing nuts to secure the sensors. - Wiring the Sensors:
Connect the wires from each sensor to the corresponding terminals on your garage door opener. Typically, white wires connect to the white terminal, and white/black striped wires connect to the gray/black terminal. Ensure a secure connection for both sensors. - Aligning the Sensors:
Once wired, restore power to the garage door opener. The yellow LED on the sending sensor should glow steadily. The green LED on the receiving sensor should also glow steadily when properly aligned. If the green LED is flashing or off, adjust the sensor's position until it glows steadily. - Testing the Sensors:
With the garage door open, place an object (e.g., a box) in the path of the sensor beam. Attempt to close the garage door. The door should not close and should reverse if it starts to move. Remove the object and test again to ensure the door closes normally.

Operation
Once correctly installed and aligned, the safety sensors continuously monitor the garage door opening. The sending sensor emits an invisible infrared beam to the receiving sensor. If this beam is interrupted while the garage door is closing, the garage door opener will automatically reverse the door's direction or prevent it from closing, ensuring safety.
- Yellow LED (Sending Sensor): Should glow steadily, indicating power and beam emission.
- Green LED (Receiving Sensor): Should glow steadily when the beam is properly received. If it flashes or is off, the sensors are misaligned or obstructed.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Garage door does not close, or reverses immediately. | Sensors are misaligned or obstructed. | Check for obstructions in the beam path. Adjust sensor alignment until both LEDs glow steadily. |
| Green LED on receiving sensor is off or flashing. | Misalignment, obstruction, or wiring issue. | Ensure sensors are aligned and free of obstructions. Check wiring connections for security and correct polarity. |
| No LEDs are lit on either sensor. | No power to sensors or wiring issue. | Verify power to the garage door opener. Check all wiring connections from sensors to the opener for breaks or loose connections. |
| Sensors are installed but door still closes on obstructions. | Sensors are faulty or improperly installed. | Re-check installation steps carefully. If issues persist, contact customer support for assistance. |
