5. Installation Instructions
Follow these steps to properly install your Xitomer Adjustable Highway Peg Mounts:
- Identify Mounting Location: Choose a suitable section of your motorcycle's frame bar or crash bar where the pegs will not interfere with steering, braking, or other controls. Ensure the bar diameter is between 22mm and 28.8mm.
- Prepare the Clamp: Separate the two halves of the mounting clamp. If your motorcycle's bar diameter is at the smaller end of the compatibility range (e.g., 22mm), insert the provided gaskets/shims into the clamp halves to ensure a snug fit.
- Position the Mount: Place one half of the clamp around the chosen bar location. Align the mounting arm with the desired orientation.
- Secure the Clamp: Place the second half of the clamp over the bar and align the bolt holes. Insert the mounting bolts and hand-tighten them initially. Ensure the clamp is evenly seated around the bar.
- Attach the Footpeg: Connect the footpeg to the mounting arm using the provided hardware. The footpeg can be rotated 360 degrees and folded 90 degrees for optimal positioning.
- Adjust and Tighten: Adjust the angle and position of the footpeg and mounting arm to your preference. Once the desired position is achieved, securely tighten all bolts on the clamp and the footpeg pivot points. It is recommended to use a thread-locking compound (e.g., blue Loctite) on all fasteners to prevent loosening due to vibration.
- Repeat for Second Peg: Install the second highway peg mount on the opposite side of the motorcycle, mirroring the steps to ensure symmetrical placement.
- Final Check: Before riding, double-check all bolts for tightness and ensure the pegs do not impede any motorcycle functions or rider movement.

6. Adjustment and Usage
The Xitomer Highway Peg Mounts offer multiple adjustment points for personalized comfort:
- Arm Rotation: The mounting arm can be rotated 360 degrees around its attachment point to the clamp, allowing for various forward or backward positions.
- Footpeg Angle: The footpeg itself can be adjusted for angle relative to the mounting arm.
- Folding Mechanism: The footpegs can be folded up 90 degrees when not in use, providing clearance and a more compact profile.
- Length Adjustment: The mounting arm offers adjustable hole distances from 115mm to 135mm (center to center) to fine-tune the peg's extension.
To adjust, slightly loosen the relevant bolts, reposition the component, and then re-tighten securely. Always ensure adjustments are made while the motorcycle is stationary.

7. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and safe operation of your highway peg mounts, perform the following maintenance:
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all bolts and pivot points for tightness. Vibrations from riding can cause fasteners to loosen over time.
- Cleaning: Clean the mounts with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Lubrication: Apply a small amount of appropriate lubricant to the pivot points of the footpegs if they become stiff or squeaky.
- Damage Check: Inspect the aluminum components for any cracks, bends, or other damage, especially after any impact or fall. Replace damaged parts immediately.
8. Troubleshooting
- Pegs Loosening: If the pegs frequently loosen, ensure all bolts are tightened to an appropriate torque. Consider using a medium-strength thread-locking compound (e.g., blue Loctite) on the threads of the mounting bolts.
- Difficulty Adjusting: If the footpegs are stiff to adjust, check for dirt or debris in the pivot mechanisms. Clean and apply a small amount of lubricant. Do not force adjustments.
- Improper Fit: If the clamp does not fit snugly on the crash bar, ensure you are using the correct gaskets/shims for your bar diameter. The mounts are designed for 22-28.8mm bars.
