Setup Guide
1. Initial Inspection
Upon receiving the battery, inspect it for any visible damage. Verify all components listed in the "What's in the Box" section are present. If any issues are found, contact Renogy support immediately.
2. Battery Dimensions

3. Connecting Batteries (Series & Parallel)
The Renogy 12V 200Ah Core battery supports various connection configurations to meet your system's voltage and capacity requirements. Ensure all batteries are of the same chemistry, rated capacities, nominal voltages, and models for optimal performance and safety.
Parallel Connection (12V): Connect batteries in parallel to increase total capacity while maintaining the nominal voltage. Up to 8 batteries can be connected in parallel for a 12V (12.8V) 1600Ah system (20.48kWh).

4. Battery Terminal Installation
Ensure cable lugs and the top surface of the terminal are in contact. Use the provided M8 long terminal bolts and insulating sleeves. Proper tightening is crucial to prevent high resistance and ensure safety.
5. Battery Balancing Prior to Connection
Before connecting multiple batteries in a system, it is important to balance their voltages. Charge each battery individually to its full capacity using a suitable charger. The voltage difference between each battery should be less than 0.1V.
Allow batteries to rest together for 12 to 24 hours before use to equalize voltages.
Operating Guidelines
1. Charging and Discharging
The battery supports a maximum continuous charge/discharge current of 100A. It can surge up to 300A for 10 seconds. Do not exceed these limits to prevent damage.
Low-Temperature Charging: The battery features a self-heating function. If the battery temperature is below 32°F (0°C), the heating pads will activate, drawing approximately 110W, to warm the battery to a safe charging temperature. Charging will only begin once the internal temperature is above freezing.
Video: Demonstration of the battery's self-heating function in cold temperatures, showing how it warms up before allowing a charge.
Discharge Performance: The battery provides consistent power. For example, it can power an air conditioner (1000W) for 6.92 hours, a fridge (100W) for 62.9 hours, a microwave (750W) for 2.7 hours, or a heater (500W) for 4.15 hours. Actual runtime may vary based on conditions.

Maintenance
Regularly inspect battery terminals for corrosion and ensure connections are tight. Keep the battery clean and dry. Periodically check the battery voltage to ensure proper charge levels.
For long-term storage, charge the battery to 50% State of Charge (SOC) and store in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 3-6 months to prevent self-discharge.
Troubleshooting
The Battery Management System (BMS) provides various protections. If the battery stops functioning, check the following:
- Over-Voltage Protection: If charging voltage exceeds 14.8V, the BMS will disconnect. Disconnect the charger and allow the battery to recover.
- Under-Voltage Protection: If discharge voltage drops below 10V, the BMS will disconnect. Remove the load and recharge the battery.
- Over-Current Protection: If discharge current exceeds 200A (or 300A surge), the BMS will disconnect. Reduce the load.
- Short Circuit Protection: The BMS will trigger if a short circuit occurs. Remove the short circuit immediately.
- High/Low Temperature Protection: The BMS will prevent charging/discharging outside safe temperature ranges. Allow the battery to return to normal operating temperatures.
