Setup

1. Powering the Traps

OWLTRA OW-7 Electric Rodent Trap:

  • Battery Power: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the trap. Insert 4 'D' size batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
  • USB Power: Connect the provided USB cable to the Type-C interface on the trap and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port.

OWLTRA OW-2 Electric Mouse Traps:

  • The OW-2 traps are typically powered by batteries. Open the battery compartment and insert the required batteries (refer to the trap's markings for battery type and quantity).

2. Baiting the Traps

For both OW-7 and OW-2 models:

  • Locate the bait area inside the trap. This is typically a small compartment or indentation at the back of the trap.
  • Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, hazelnut spread, or chocolate syrup, using a toothpick or cotton swab. Avoid touching the bait area directly with your hands to prevent leaving human scent.
  • Do not overfill the bait area; a pea-sized amount is sufficient.

3. Placement

Place the traps in areas where rodent activity is suspected, such as along walls, in corners, or near food sources. Rodents tend to travel along walls.

  • OWLTRA OW-7: Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. When using outdoors or in damp environments, ensure the waterproof cover is securely placed over the trap.

Operating Instructions

1. Activating the Trap

After baiting and placing the trap, turn on the power switch. A green indicator light (if present) will illuminate briefly, indicating the trap is active and ready.

2. Rodent Detection and Elimination

When a rodent enters the trap and makes contact with the metal plates, the trap delivers a high-voltage electric shock, humanely and instantly eliminating the rodent.

  • OWLTRA OW-7: Features sound and light alarms that activate when a rodent is caught, notifying you that it's time to check the trap.
