6. Setup and Installation
6.1 Wiring Instructions
Before wiring, ensure the power supply is completely disconnected. Connect your devices to the relay output terminals (NC, COM, NO) according to your application's requirements. Connect the module's input terminals to either a USB 5V power source or an AC 85-250V power source. Refer to the product's markings for correct polarity and terminal identification. The terminal blocks are designed for secure connections, but ensure wires are properly stripped and inserted.
6.2 App Configuration (Smart Life/Tuya App)
- Download App: Download the "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" app from your mobile device's app store (iOS or Android).
- Register/Login: Create an account or log in if you already have one.
- Add Device: Power on the relay module. Open the app and tap the "+" icon to add a device. The app may automatically discover the device via Bluetooth. If not, select "Electrical" or "Switch" from the device list.
- Pairing Mode: If the device is not automatically found, put the module into pairing mode. This usually involves pressing and holding the reset button until the signal instruction light blinks rapidly. Follow the app's instructions for Wi-Fi network selection (ensure it's a 2.4GHz network) and password entry.
- Device Naming: Once connected, you can rename the device and its individual channels for easier control.
- Offline Control: After initial Wi-Fi configuration, the module can be controlled via Bluetooth or 433MHz RF (if compatible RF remote is used) even if the Wi-Fi connection is lost.
7. Operating Modes
The module supports three primary operating modes, configurable within the Smart Life/Tuya App for each channel independently:
7.1 Self-locking (Latching) Mode
In this mode, pressing the control button (either in the app or on the module) for a channel will toggle its state. Press once to turn on, press again to turn off. Each of the four channels can be controlled independently.

Figure 7.1: Illustration of controlling four separate devices (lights, fan, lamp) independently in self-locking mode.
7.2 Momentary (Inching) Mode
When set to momentary mode, pressing the control button will turn the relay on for a preset duration (default is one second, adjustable from 2 seconds to 1 minute in the app), and then automatically turn it off. This is ideal for applications like garage door openers or momentary triggers.
7.3 Interlock Mode
In interlock mode, only one channel can be active at a time. When you turn on one channel, any other active channels will automatically turn off. This is useful for applications where only one device should be powered at any given moment.
8. Advanced Features
8.1 Voice Control
The Yitouniu relay module is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Once linked through the Smart Life/Tuya app, you can control your connected devices using simple voice commands.

Figure 8.1: The relay module integrates seamlessly with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Home for hands-free control.

- Clean Gently: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Temperature Control: Do not operate or store the module in environments outside its specified temperature range.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate airflow around the module if it is enclosed, to prevent overheating.
10. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Yitouniu relay module, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Device Not Connecting to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The module does not support 5GHz networks.
- Check Wi-Fi password accuracy.
- Move the module closer to your Wi-Fi router.
- Try resetting the module (press and hold the reset button) and re-initiating the pairing process in the app.
- Device Unresponsive:
- Verify the module is powered on and the power indicator light is active.
- Check the wiring connections to ensure they are secure.
- If using voice control, ensure the Smart Life/Tuya app is correctly linked to your Alexa or Google Home account.
- Relay Not Toggling:
- Ensure the connected device is within the 10A current limit. Overloading can prevent the relay from switching.
- Check the operating mode set in the app (Self-locking, Momentary, Interlock) to ensure it matches your intended behavior.
