Setup Instructions

  1. Choose Discharge Hose: Select a suitable discharge hose. The pump comes with a 1-1/4'' NPT discharge and includes adapters for 1-1/2'' elbow, and snap coupling adapters for 3/4'', 1'', or 1-1/4'' hoses. The snap coupling adapter can be cut to fit different hose sizes.
  2. Attach Adapter: Securely attach the appropriate hose adapter to the pump's discharge outlet. For garden hoses, use the provided 3/4'' garden hose adapter.
  3. Connect Hose: Connect your discharge hose to the adapter. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. PTFE tape can be used on threaded connections for a better seal.
  4. Position Pump: Place the pump in the area to be drained, ensuring it is on a stable, level surface and fully submerged in the water. The bottom suction design allows for efficient water removal down to 1/5 inch.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the 10ft UL power cord into a grounded 115V AC electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for added safety.

Operating Instructions

  1. Initiate Operation: Once the pump is submerged and connected to power, it will begin pumping water. The pump is designed for continuous operation when plugged in.
  2. Monitor Water Level: The pump's bottom suction design allows it to remove water down to 1/5 inch. Monitor the water level to ensure the pump remains submerged during operation.
  3. Prevent Dry Running: The built-in thermal overload protector will automatically shut off the pump if it overheats due to dry running. If this occurs, unplug the pump, allow it to cool, and ensure it is fully submerged before restarting.
  4. Stop Operation: To stop the pump, simply unplug it from the power outlet.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pump:

  • Cleaning: After each use, especially when pumping dirty water, rinse the pump thoroughly with clean water. Remove any debris that may have accumulated around the intake screen at the bottom of the pump.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord for any signs of damage (cuts, fraying). Check the discharge outlet and adapters for blockages or wear.
  • Winter Storage: If storing the pump in an area where temperatures may drop below freezing, ensure all water is drained from the pump to prevent ice damage. Store in a dry, protected location.
  • Thermal Overload Protector: The built-in thermal overload protector is a safety feature. If it activates frequently, it may indicate a blockage, dry running, or an issue with the power supply. Address the underlying cause before continued use.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Pump does not start. No power; Thermal overload activated; Impeller jammed.Check power connection and GFCI. Allow pump to cool if overheated. Inspect and clear any debris from the impeller.
Pump runs but no water flows.Air lock; Discharge hose kinked or blocked; Water level too low.Ensure pump is fully submerged and tilted to release trapped air. Check hose for kinks or blockages. Ensure water level is sufficient for operation.
Reduced flow rate.Partial blockage in intake or discharge; Worn impeller; Excessive head height.Clean intake screen and check discharge hose for partial blockages. Refer to specifications for maximum lifting height.
Pump cycles on and off frequently.Thermal overload activating; Insufficient water to maintain continuous operation.Ensure pump is fully submerged. Check for dry running conditions.
