2. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when operating your electric bike. Failure to follow safety guidelines can result in serious injury or damage to the product.

4. Setup and Assembly

Your HITWAY BK16 Electric Bike comes partially assembled. Follow these steps to complete the assembly process.

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the bike and all components from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Handlebar Installation: Attach the handlebar to the stem, ensuring it is centered and tightened securely.
3. Front Wheel Installation: Install the front wheel, ensuring the disc brake rotor aligns correctly with the caliper.
4. Pedal Installation: Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. Thread them into the crank arms carefully. The left pedal tightens counter-clockwise, and the right pedal tightens clockwise.
5. Seat Post Adjustment: Insert the seat post into the frame and adjust the height to a comfortable riding position. Secure the quick-release lever.
6. Battery Installation: Insert the fully charged battery into its compartment on the frame and lock it securely with the key.

You can assemble the bike using the videos and quick operation guides published by HITWAY. A protective plastic clip may be included on the unassembled bicycle; this has no other purpose and can be discarded after use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Charging the Battery

The 48V 18Ah 21700 Li-ion battery provides a range of 55-80KM. A full charge takes approximately 7-8 hours.

1. Locate the charging port on the bike or remove the battery for off-bike charging.
2. Connect the charger to the battery charging port.
3. Plug the charger into a standard power outlet.
4. The charger indicator light will show charging status (usually red for charging, green for fully charged).
5. Once fully charged, disconnect the charger from the outlet and then from the battery.

5.2. Powering On/Off and Display

The bike features a waterproof LCD display that provides various data such as mileage, speed, pedal assist level, and battery status.

• To power on the bike, press and hold the power button on the display unit.
• To power off, press and hold the power button again.
• The display will show current speed, battery charge, and selected pedal assist level.

5.3. Riding Modes

Note: In the UK and most EU countries, the bike will not come with an accelerator, and pure throttle riding is not possible to meet certification requirements.
