5. Setup
- Unpack the Scale: Carefully remove the scale from its packaging.
- Battery Installation: The scale comes with 2x AAA batteries pre-installed. If the display does not light up, check the battery compartment on the underside of the scale. Ensure the batteries are correctly inserted with the correct polarity. Remove the plastic insulation tab if present.
- Placement: Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Avoid carpets or uneven flooring for accurate readings.
- Initial Calibration (First Use or After Moving): For the first use or after moving the scale, step on it briefly until numbers appear, then step off. The scale will display "0.0" or "CAL" and then turn off. This calibrates the scale to its surface.

6. Operating Instructions
