Setup Instructions
1. Physical Installation
- Ensure the power to the light fixture is turned off at the wall switch.
- Carefully screw the UCB Smart Bluetooth LED Bulb into a standard E26 light socket.
- Turn on the power to the light fixture. The bulb should illuminate.
2. Pairing with Alexa
The UCB Smart Bulbs are designed to work exclusively with Amazon Alexa devices. No Wi-Fi or separate hub is required. The following Alexa speakers are supported:
- Echo Plus (all models)
- Echo Show (all models)
- Echo (all models except 1st Generation)
- Echo Dot (all models except 1st Generation)
There are two methods for pairing your bulbs with Alexa:
Method 1: One-Step Alexa Pairing
- Install the smart light bulb and turn it off.
- After 5 seconds, turn the smart light bulb on.
- Say to your Alexa device: "Alexa, find device."
- Alexa will confirm when the device is found. You can then use Alexa to control the light.
Note: The Alexa speaker can add up to 4 lights at a time. Repeat the above steps for any remaining bulbs that are yet to be paired.
Method 2: Pairing via BRmesh App (if Method 1 fails or for advanced features)
- Download the "BRmesh" app from your smartphone's app store.
- Open the BRmesh app and add your lights within the app.
- Within the BRmesh app, tap "Activate Alexa" on the BRmesh APP.
- Tap "OK, Understand, Proceed Step 1".
- Select one light, then tap "Activate".
- Tap "OK". (It is recommended to pair only one light at a time using this method).
- Once paired in the BRmesh app, say to your Alexa device: "Alexa, find device."
Note: If the BRmesh APP is no longer needed or desired, it can be deleted after pairing with Alexa without affecting the use of the light(s) with Alexa.
