- Use only the bulb type and wattage specified. Exceeding the maximum wattage may cause overheating and damage to the fixture.
- Handle glass components with care to prevent breakage.
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.

Setup (Installation)
Before you begin, ensure the power to the circuit is turned off at the main fuse box or circuit breaker. It is recommended to have a second person assist with installation.
- Prepare for Installation: Turn off power at the circuit breaker. Clear the work area. Gather necessary tools (screwdriver, wire strippers, electrical tape, ladder).
- Attach Mounting Crossbar: Secure the mounting crossbar to the junction box in the ceiling using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Adjust Chain Length: Determine the desired hanging height for your pendant. The fixture includes 6 feet of chain and 10 feet of cord. Use pliers to open and remove excess chain links if necessary. Thread the electrical wires through the chain and canopy.
- Make Electrical Connections: Carefully connect the fixture's wires to the house wires.
- Connect the green or bare copper ground wire from the fixture to the green or bare copper ground wire from the junction box.
- Connect the white (neutral) wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box.
- Connect the black (hot) wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box.
- Mount the Canopy: Carefully push the canopy up to the ceiling, covering the junction box. Secure it in place with the provided screws.
- Assemble Fixture Body and Glass: Attach the pendant's main body to the canopy. Carefully place the matte white glass shade onto the fixture, securing it according to the design (typically by threading a ring or using set screws).
- Install Bulb: Screw in one (1) incandescent bulb (maximum 100 Watts) into the socket. Do not overtighten.
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, restore power at the circuit breaker.

Operating Instructions
The Innovations Beacon 1-Light Pendant is designed for simple operation.
- Turning On/Off: Operate the light fixture using a standard wall switch connected to the circuit.
- Dimming Functionality: This fixture is dimmable. If connected to a compatible dimmer switch (sold separately) and using a dimmable incandescent, LED, fluorescent, or halogen bulb, you can adjust the light intensity. Follow the dimmer switch manufacturer's instructions for proper use.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your pendant light.
- Cleaning the Fixture: Always turn off power at the circuit breaker before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the brushed brass finish. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes as they may damage the finish.
- Cleaning the Glass Shade: The matte white glass shade can be gently wiped with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner can be used, applied to the cloth first, not directly to the glass. Ensure the glass is completely dry before restoring power.
- Bulb Replacement: Turn off power at the circuit breaker. Allow the bulb to cool completely before attempting to replace it. Unscrew the old bulb and screw in a new incandescent bulb (maximum 100 Watts). Do not exceed the recommended wattage.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your pendant light, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on. | No power to the fixture. Loose wire connection. Faulty bulb. | Check circuit breaker/fuse. Ensure wall switch is on. Turn off power, check all wire connections. Replace bulb with a new one. |
| Light flickers. | Loose wire connection. Incorrect bulb type for dimmer. Faulty dimmer switch. | Turn off power, check all wire connections. Ensure bulb is dimmable and compatible with your dimmer. Test with a standard switch or replace dimmer. |
| Dimming does not work. | Non-dimmable bulb. Incompatible dimmer switch. Incorrect wiring of dimmer. | Use a dimmable bulb. Ensure dimmer switch is compatible with incandescent/LED/CFL bulbs. Consult a qualified electrician to check dimmer wiring. |
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact a qualified electrician or the manufacturer's customer support.
