2. Setup and Initial Use
2.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the helmet and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect the helmet for any signs of damage during transit. The box should contain:
- LS2 Advant Modular Helmet
- Helmet Shield (pre-installed)
- Helmet Bag
- Pinlock insert
2.2 Sizing and Fit
Proper fit is crucial for safety and comfort. The LS2 Advant Helmet is designed to fit an intermediate oval head shape. Please note that this helmet tends to run small; consider ordering at least one size larger than your usual fit for optimal comfort.
To determine your head circumference:
- Locate your measuring tool (flexible tape measure or string).
- Wrap the tool around your head, just above your eyebrows. If using string, mark the point where it overlaps, then measure with a straight ruler.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Modular System Operation
The helmet features a 180-degree modular system, allowing you to easily switch between full-face and open-face configurations. To open the chin bar, locate the release mechanism, typically a button or lever near the chin. Press or slide it and lift the chin bar upwards until it locks into the open position. To close, pull the chin bar down until it securely latches.

3.2 Visor and Sun Shield
The clear polycarbonate face shield provides optical clarity and UV protection. It is scratch-resistant. To raise or lower the main visor, simply pivot it using the tab. The integrated sun shield can be deployed or retracted using a slider mechanism, usually located on the side of the helmet, to adapt to changing light conditions.
3.3 Ventilation System
The helmet is equipped with a fully adjustable, multi-port dynamic flow-through ventilation system. Open and close the vents located on the chin bar and top of the helmet to control airflow and keep you cool during rides.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Helmet Shell
Clean the helmet shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners as they can damage the helmet's finish and materials.
4.2 Visor Care
Clean the face shield and sun shield with a soft cloth and warm water. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution. Do not use abrasive materials or cleaners that contain ammonia, as these can scratch or damage the optical properties of the shield. The Pinlock insert should be handled with care; clean it gently with a soft cloth and water only.
4.3 Removable Liner
The technical fabric liner is removable and washable. Follow the care instructions on the liner's label, typically hand wash with mild soap and air dry. Ensure the liner is completely dry before re-installing it into the helmet.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Fit Issues
If the helmet feels too tight, especially around the cheeks, remember that the helmet runs small and you may need a larger size. If it feels too loose, it may not provide adequate protection. Ensure you have selected the correct size based on the sizing guide.
5.2 Cardo Communication Issues
- No sound/connectivity: Ensure the Cardo unit is charged and properly powered on. Check Bluetooth pairing with your device or other intercom units. Refer to the Cardo user manual for specific pairing instructions.
- Buttons unresponsive: Ensure the unit is not wet or excessively dirty. If issues persist, try a soft reset (refer to Cardo manual) or contact Cardo support.
5.3 Visor Fogging
If the visor fogs up, ensure the Pinlock insert is correctly installed. You can also slightly open the visor or adjust the ventilation to increase airflow and reduce fogging.
