4. Setup and Installation
Installation of both water heaters should only be performed by a qualified electrician or plumber. Incorrect installation can lead to hazards and void the warranty.
4.1 Site Selection
- Choose a location close to the point of use to minimize heat loss.
- Ensure the wall can support the full weight of the water heater when filled with water.
- Provide adequate clearance around the unit for maintenance.
- Protect from freezing temperatures.
4.2 Mounting
- Mark drilling points on the wall according to the mounting bracket dimensions.
- Drill holes and insert appropriate wall plugs.
- Securely fasten the mounting bracket to the wall.
- Carefully hang the water heater onto the bracket.
4.3 Plumbing Connections
- Connect the cold water inlet (usually blue marked) to the main cold water supply.
- Connect the hot water outlet (usually red marked) to the hot water tap.
- For Arno Neo (Storage Heater): Install the pressure relief valve (PRV) on the cold water inlet as per instructions. Ensure the PRV discharge pipe is directed downwards and open to atmosphere.
- Use appropriate sealing tape on all threaded connections to prevent leaks.
- Open the hot water tap to allow air to escape while the tank fills with water. Close the tap once water flows steadily.
4.4 Electrical Connections
- Ensure the power supply matches the voltage and wattage requirements specified on the product label.
- Connect the water heater to a dedicated, properly grounded electrical circuit with an appropriate circuit breaker.
- Do not use extension cords or adapters.
- All electrical connections must be tight and secure.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Initial Start-up
- Ensure the water heater tank is completely filled with water (for Arno Neo, check by opening a hot water tap until water flows).
- Switch on the electrical power supply to the water heater.
- The indicator light(s) will illuminate, signaling power and heating status.
5.2 Temperature Adjustment (Arno Neo Only)
The Arno Neo storage water heater features a temperature control knob. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the temperature and counter-clockwise to decrease it. The recommended temperature setting for energy efficiency and safety is typically around 45-55°C.
5.3 Normal Operation
- Arno Neo (Storage Heater): Once the set temperature is reached, the heating element will switch off automatically. It will reactivate when the water temperature drops below the set point.
- InstaBliss (Instant Heater): Hot water will be supplied almost immediately upon opening the hot water tap. The heating element activates when water flows through the unit.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your water heaters. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.
6.1 Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior of the water heater with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
6.2 Draining the Tank (Arno Neo Only)
If the water heater will be unused for an extended period or if there is a risk of freezing, drain the tank:
- Switch off the power supply.
- Close the cold water inlet valve.
- Open a hot water tap to release pressure.
- Connect a hose to the drain valve (if present) or open the PRV and allow water to drain completely.
6.3 Anode Rod Inspection (Arno Neo Only)
The magnesium anode rod in the Arno Neo protects the tank from corrosion. It should be inspected and replaced by a qualified technician every 1-2 years, depending on water quality.
6.4 Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) Check (Arno Neo Only)
Periodically check the PRV by lifting the test lever. Water should flow out and then stop when the lever is released. If it does not, the PRV may be faulty and requires replacement by a qualified technician.
