6. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the STPS-1028 from its packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: The unit can be placed on a flat surface or rack-mounted in a standard 1U rack space. Use the provided rack mount ears and screws for secure installation.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the main power cable to the AC input on the rear panel of the STPS-1028 and then to a suitable wall outlet (120V for US models).
  4. Equipment Connection:
    • Connect equipment that requires sequential power-up/down to the 8 sequenced outlets (Ch1-Ch8) on the rear panel.
    • Connect equipment that requires constant power to the 2 always-on outlets on the front panel.
    • Use the USB port on the front panel for charging compatible devices.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Powering On/Off Sequentially

  1. Ensure all equipment connected to the sequenced outlets is switched off.
  2. Press the main POWER switch on the front panel to turn on the unit. The LCD display will show the current voltage.
  3. The sequenced outlets (Ch1-Ch8) will power on in stages, allowing each piece of equipment to stabilize before the next powers on. Indicators for each channel will illuminate as they activate.
  4. To power off, press the main POWER switch again. The outlets will power down in reverse sequence.

7.2 Individual Channel Control

Each of the 8 sequenced outlets can be individually controlled using its corresponding switch on the front panel. This allows for manual power control of specific devices within the sequence.

7.3 Bypass Function

The BYPASS button on the front panel allows you to override the sequential power-up/down. Pressing this button will immediately switch on or off all 8 sequenced outlets simultaneously.
