1. Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the Samson Expedition XP106 Rechargeable Portable PA system and the Pyle Universal Speaker Stand. The Samson XP106 is a versatile, all-in-one sound solution featuring Bluetooth connectivity and a built-in 4-channel mixer, suitable for various applications including presentations, performances, and outdoor events. The Pyle speaker stand offers stable support for your PA system.
Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the equipment to ensure proper use and to prevent damage.

2. What's Included
The package includes the following components:

3. Setup
3.1 Pyle Universal Speaker Stand Assembly
- Unfold the tripod legs of the speaker stand until they are fully extended and stable.
- Adjust the height of the telescoping center column to the desired level (between 40 and 71 inches).
- Secure the height adjustment with the locking safety pin and tighten the knob-style tension locking mechanism. Ensure the stand is stable before placing any equipment on it.

3.2 Samson XP106 PA System Placement
- Carefully lift the Samson XP106 PA system and place it onto the 35mm compatible insert at the top of the assembled Pyle speaker stand.
- Ensure the PA system is securely seated on the stand.
3.3 Connecting the Microphone
- Locate the XLR-1/4 inch combo input on the rear panel of the XP106 PA system.
- Connect the wired handheld dynamic microphone to one of the available input channels.

3.4 Powering On and Charging
- Connect the power adapter to the DC 18V/3.5A input on the rear panel and plug it into a power outlet to charge the internal battery or operate the unit.
- Flip the ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position to power on the PA system.
- The battery indicator light will show charging status. A full charge provides up to 20 hours of continuous use.
4. Operation
4.1 Using the 4-Channel Mixer
The XP106 features a built-in 4-channel mixer. Each channel has independent volume control. Refer to Figure 5 for the layout of the rear panel controls.
- Channels 1 & 2: XLR-1/4 inch combo inputs for microphones or line-level instruments. Adjust gain using the respective knobs.
- Channel 3: Line input (1/8 inch stereo) for connecting external audio devices.
- Channel 4: Bluetooth input for wireless audio streaming.
- USB Wireless Port: For connecting Samson's Stage XPD1 USB Digital Wireless System (sold separately).
- Line Out: 1/4 inch output for connecting to another PA system or recording device.
4.2 Bluetooth Connectivity
- Ensure the XP106 is powered on.
- Press the Bluetooth pairing button on the rear panel (refer to Figure 5). The Bluetooth indicator light will flash.
- On your smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled device, search for 'Samson XP106' in the Bluetooth settings.
- Select 'Samson XP106' to pair. Once paired, the indicator light will glow solid blue.
- Adjust the volume for the Bluetooth channel using its dedicated knob.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the PA system and speaker stand. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use, store the PA system and speaker stand in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the unit regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the PA system and a working power outlet. Check the ON/OFF switch. If operating on battery, ensure the battery is charged.
- No Sound Output: Verify all volume controls (master and individual channels) are turned up. Check microphone and input cable connections. Ensure the audio source is playing.
- Bluetooth Pairing Issues: Ensure the PA system is in pairing mode (flashing blue light). Turn off and on Bluetooth on your device. Move closer to the PA system.
- Distorted Sound: Reduce input gain levels or master volume to prevent clipping (indicated by the 'PEAK' LED). Check cable connections for damage.
- Speaker Stand Instability: Ensure tripod legs are fully extended and the safety pin is engaged. Do not exceed the maximum weight load capacity of 132 lbs.
