4.4 Water Resistance

Your SMAEL 8049 watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM). This means it is suitable for daily use, showering, and shallow swimming. Do not press any buttons while the watch is submerged in water. Avoid exposing the watch to hot water or steam, as this can compromise the water seals.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning Your Watch

To clean your watch, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Ensure the watch is completely dry before storing. Avoid using chemical cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the watch's finish and seals.

5.2 Battery Replacement

The SMAEL 8049 watch uses a CR2025 lithium-metal battery. When the display becomes dim or functions become erratic, it may be time to replace the battery. Battery replacement should ideally be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance. If replacing yourself, ensure the correct battery type is used and the back cover is securely fastened to maintain water resistance.

5.3 Water Resistance Care

To maintain the water resistance of your watch:

  • Do not operate buttons while the watch is underwater.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes (e.g., hot showers, saunas), which can cause seals to expand and contract, leading to water ingress.
  • Have the water resistance seals checked periodically, especially after battery replacement.
