2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating your safe. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the safe or its contents.

4. Setup

4.1. Unpacking and Placement

  1. Remove all packaging materials from the safe.
  2. Place the safe in your desired location. Ensure the surface is flat and capable of supporting the safe's weight.
  3. Consider placing the safe in a discreet location for added security.

4.2. Battery Installation

The electronic lock requires batteries for operation. Use high-quality alkaline batteries for best performance.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the electronic keypad.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the required number of batteries (typically 4 AA batteries), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.3. Initial Opening

Your safe comes with override keys for initial access and in case of electronic lock malfunction.

  1. Insert the override key into the keyhole, usually located behind the keypad cover or a small panel.
  2. Turn the key clockwise (or as indicated) while simultaneously turning the safe handle to open the door.
  3. Once open, remove the key and store it in a secure location away from the safe.

4.4. Anchoring the Safe (Optional)

For enhanced security, it is recommended to anchor the safe to a floor or wall using the provided mounting hardware.

  1. Open the safe door.
  2. Locate the pre-drilled mounting holes on the bottom or back of the safe.
  3. Position the safe and mark the drilling points on the floor or wall.
  4. Drill pilot holes using an appropriate drill bit for your surface (wood, concrete, etc.).
  5. Align the safe with the drilled holes and secure it using the provided anchor bolts. Tighten firmly.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Setting Your Personal Code

It is crucial to set your personal code immediately after initial setup. The factory default code (if any) should be changed.

  1. With the safe door open, locate the red or green reset button on the inside of the door, near the hinge.
  2. Press the reset button. You should hear a beep and/or see an indicator light on the keypad.
  3. On the keypad, enter your desired new code (typically 3-8 digits).
  4. Press the "ENTER" or "#" button to confirm.
  5. Test the new code with the door open to ensure it works correctly before closing the safe.

5.2. Opening the Safe

  1. Enter your personal code on the electronic keypad.
  2. Press the "ENTER" or "#" button.
  3. If the code is correct, you will hear a beep and the indicator light will turn green.
  4. Within 5 seconds, turn the safe handle clockwise (or as indicated) to open the door.

5.3. Closing and Locking the Safe

  1. Close the safe door firmly.
  2. Turn the safe handle counter-clockwise (or as indicated) until it is fully engaged and the door is secured.
  3. The safe is now locked. No code entry is required to lock the safe.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Battery Replacement

Replace batteries annually or when the low battery indicator light appears (if applicable), or if the keypad becomes unresponsive.

  1. Open the safe using your code or the override key.
  2. Locate and open the battery compartment.
  3. Remove old batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
  4. Insert new, high-quality alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Close the battery compartment.
  6. Test the keypad operation.

6.2. Cleaning

Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or keypad.

7. Troubleshooting
