2. Safety Guidelines

4. Setup and Initial Assembly
Your ENGWE L20 2.0 Electric Bike arrives 93% pre-assembled. Follow these steps for final assembly and preparation for your first ride.
4.1 Unboxing and Unfolding
Carefully remove the bike from its packaging. Unfold the frame and secure the folding mechanisms. Ensure the handlebar stem is raised and locked into position.

4.2 Handlebar and Seat Adjustment
Adjust the handlebar height and angle for a comfortable riding position. The L20 2.0 features an adjustable saddle suitable for various rider heights. Ensure the seat post is inserted past the minimum insertion line and the quick release is securely tightened.
4.3 Pedal Installation
Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. Apply a small amount of grease to the pedal threads. Screw the pedals into the crank arms by hand, then tighten them firmly with a wrench. Remember, the left pedal tightens counter-clockwise.
4.4 Battery Installation and Charging
If the battery is not pre-installed, slide it into its compartment until it clicks securely. Before your first ride, fully charge the battery using the provided charger. The charging time is approximately 5-6 hours.

5. Operating Your ENGWE L20 2.0

5.1 Powering On/Off and Display

5.2 Riding Modes
The ENGWE L20 2.0 offers multiple riding modes:
- Pedal Assist Mode (PAS): This mode provides electric assistance as you pedal. There are 5 levels of pedal assist, which can be adjusted using the '+' and '-' buttons on the control panel. Higher levels provide more assistance and speed. In PAS mode, the bike can reach up to 28 MPH.
- Electric-Only Throttle Mode: Engage the throttle for power without pedaling. In this mode, the top speed is limited to 20 MPH.
- Manual Mode: Ride the bike like a traditional bicycle without any electric assistance. The 7-speed gearbox allows for comfortable pedaling.
5.3 Braking System
The e-bike is equipped with 180mm armored disc brakes for sensitive and stable stopping power. Always apply both front and rear brakes simultaneously for effective and safe braking. Practice braking in a safe area before riding in traffic.
