Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the luggage scale from its packaging.
  2. Inspect: Check for any visible damage to the scale or its components.
  3. Zero the Scale: Before first use, ensure the red needle on the analog dial points to '0' (zero). If it does not, gently turn the small adjustment wheel, usually located near the top of the dial, until the needle aligns with zero.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to accurately weigh your luggage:

  1. Extend the Hook: Pull the metal hook located at the bottom of the scale downwards until it is fully extended.
  2. Attach to Luggage: Securely attach the extended hook to the handle of the luggage you wish to weigh. Ensure the hook is firmly seated and the luggage is balanced.
  3. Lift the Scale: Hold the top handle of the scale firmly and lift the entire unit, along with the attached luggage, off the ground. Lift steadily and keep the scale as still as possible.
  4. Read the Weight: Once the luggage is suspended and stable, observe the red needle on the analog dial. The needle will indicate the weight of your luggage in both kilograms (kg) and pounds (lb). Read the measurement at eye level for accuracy.
  5. Lower and Detach: Gently lower the luggage back to the ground and detach the hook from the luggage handle. Retract the hook into the scale for storage.

Using the Integrated Measuring Tape

The scale includes a retractable measuring tape to check luggage dimensions:

  1. Pull Out Tape: Locate the small button or tab on the side of the scale and pull the measuring tape out to the desired length.
  2. Measure Luggage: Use the tape to measure the length, width, and height of your luggage to ensure it meets airline size restrictions.
  3. Retract Tape: Press the button or tab to retract the measuring tape back into the scale for compact storage.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the scale with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
  • Storage: Store the scale in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the hook and measuring tape are fully retracted before storage.
  • Avoid Overloading: Do not attempt to weigh items exceeding the scale's maximum capacity of 35kg (80lb) to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale was zeroed correctly before use. Make sure the luggage is lifted steadily and not swinging during measurement.
  • Needle Not Returning to Zero: If the needle does not return to zero when no weight is applied, gently use the adjustment wheel to reset it.
  • Hook or Tape Issues: If the hook or measuring tape does not extend or retract smoothly, check for any obstructions. Do not force them.
