Setup
1. Unpacking
- Carefully remove the microwave oven and all packaging materials from the carton.
- Check the oven for any damage, such as dents or a misaligned door. Do not operate the oven if it is damaged.
- Remove any protective film from the cabinet surface.
2. Placement
- Place the oven on a flat, stable surface that can support its weight and the heaviest food likely to be cooked in it.
- Ensure there is at least 20 cm of free space above the oven, 10 cm at the rear, and 5 cm on both sides for proper ventilation.
- Do not place the oven near heat sources or in a damp environment.
3. Installing the Turntable
Place the turntable ring inside the oven cavity, then place the glass turntable plate securely on top of the turntable ring. Ensure it is correctly seated.

4. Power Connection
Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The oven is now ready for use.
Operating Instructions
The SEVERIN MW 7781 features two rotary dials for easy operation: one for power/function selection and one for the timer.

1. Power/Function Dial (Top Dial)
This dial allows you to select the desired cooking function and power level.
- Microwave Power Levels:
- 130W (Low)
- 250W (Defrost/Warm)
- 400W (Medium-Low)
- 570W (Medium)
- 700W (High)
- Grill Function: 900W grill for browning and crisping.
- Combination Modes: Settings that combine microwave and grill functions for faster cooking and browning. Refer to the symbols on the dial for specific combinations (e.g., microwave + grill, grill only).
2. Timer Dial (Bottom Dial)
This dial sets the cooking time for all functions, up to a maximum of 30 minutes.
- Turn the dial clockwise to set the desired cooking time.
- The oven will start automatically once the timer is set.
- A bell will sound when the set time has elapsed, and the oven will switch off.
3. Defrost Function
The defrost function can be set by time or by weight.
- Time Defrost: Select the 250W power level and set the desired defrosting time using the timer dial.
- Weight Defrost: The top dial has specific settings for defrosting by weight (indicated by 'kg' symbol). Select the appropriate weight range, then set the timer. The oven will automatically adjust the defrosting time.
General Cooking Steps:
- Place food in a microwave-safe container on the glass turntable. For grilling, use the provided grill grate.
- Close the oven door securely.
- Turn the top dial to select the desired power level or function (Microwave, Grill, or Combination).
- Turn the bottom dial to set the cooking time.
- The oven will begin cooking. When the time is up, the oven will beep and stop.
- Carefully remove the food. Always use oven mitts as dishes and the oven interior can be hot.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning of your microwave oven will ensure its longevity and efficient operation.
- Before Cleaning: Always unplug the oven from the power outlet and allow it to cool down.
- Oven Interior: Wipe the interior surfaces, including the oven cavity and door seals, with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn food splatters, place a bowl of water with lemon juice inside and microwave for a few minutes to loosen residue, then wipe clean.
- Glass Turntable and Turntable Ring: These can be removed and washed in warm, soapy water or in a dishwasher. Ensure they are completely dry before placing them back in the oven.
- Grill Grate: Wash with warm, soapy water.
- Oven Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Control Panel: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid excessive moisture.
