ANDELI CUT-80 Plasma Cutter Instruction Manual

Model: CUT-80

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the ANDELI CUT-80 Plasma Cutter. This device is designed for efficient metal cutting, featuring a built-in air compressor for convenience. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your plasma cutter. Please read it thoroughly before use and keep it for future reference.

The ANDELI CUT-80 Plasma Cutter allows for cutting without an external air compressor, requiring only a 200V power supply. This design eliminates the need to transport heavy air compressors, simplifying field operations. Simply trace the desired cutting area with the plasma cutting torch to achieve precise cuts on various metal plates.

2. Safety Instructions

Always prioritize safety when operating the plasma cutter. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or property damage.

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply is 200V and properly grounded. Do not operate in wet conditions. Always disconnect power before performing maintenance or changing consumables.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE, including a welding helmet with suitable shade, flame-resistant clothing, heavy-duty gloves, and safety glasses. Protect bystanders with welding screens.
  • Fume and Ventilation: Plasma cutting produces fumes and gases. Ensure adequate ventilation to avoid inhaling hazardous fumes. Use a fume extractor if necessary.
  • Fire Hazards: Keep flammable materials away from the cutting area. Hot metal and sparks can cause fires. Have a fire extinguisher readily available.
  • Burn Prevention: The plasma arc and cut material are extremely hot. Avoid contact with hot surfaces. Allow materials to cool before handling.
  • Work Area: Maintain a clean, dry, and well-lit work area. Ensure stable footing and clear pathways.
  • Children and Bystanders: Keep children and unauthorized personnel away from the operating area.
  • CE Certification: This product is CE certified, indicating compliance with European safety standards.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Placement: Place the plasma cutter on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to a three-phase 200V power outlet. Ensure the outlet is properly grounded and capable of handling the required amperage (60Amp).
  4. Plasma Torch Connection: Connect the plasma cutting torch to the designated port on the front panel of the machine. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  5. Earth Cable Connection: Connect the earth cable clamp to the workpiece or a sturdy metal workbench that is electrically connected to the workpiece. Ensure a good electrical connection for effective cutting and safety.
  6. Air Regulator Installation: Install the air regulator (if not pre-installed) and connect it to the machine's air inlet. Although the unit has a built-in compressor, the regulator helps manage air pressure for optimal cutting.
  7. Consumables Check: Before first use, ensure the correct electrode, nozzle, and cup are installed in the plasma torch. Refer to the torch assembly diagram (not provided, but implied).

5. Operating Instructions

General Cutting Procedure:

  1. Power On: Turn on the main power switch of the plasma cutter.
  2. Set Current: Adjust the cutting current (amperage) according to the material type and thickness. Start with lower settings and increase as needed.
  3. Prepare Workpiece: Ensure the workpiece is clean and free of rust, paint, or other contaminants that could interfere with the arc. Secure the earth clamp firmly to the workpiece.
  4. Pilot Arc Ignition (Non-Contact): Position the plasma torch nozzle approximately 1-2mm above the workpiece. Press the torch trigger to initiate the pilot arc. The pilot arc will establish a path for the main cutting arc.
  5. Start Cutting: Once the pilot arc is stable, slowly move the torch across the workpiece. Maintain a consistent speed and distance from the material for a clean cut. The arc should penetrate the material completely.
  6. Cutting Speed: Adjust cutting speed based on material thickness and desired cut quality. Too fast will result in an incomplete cut; too slow will cause excessive dross and wider kerf.
  7. Finish Cut: Continue cutting until the desired section is separated. Release the torch trigger to extinguish the arc.
  8. Cool Down: Allow the workpiece and torch to cool down before handling or further operations.

Cutting Capabilities:

  • Maximum Cutting Thickness: 30mm (with three-phase 200V input).
  • Effortless Cutting: Soft steel up to 20mm.
  • Applicable Materials: Stainless steel, alloys, aluminum, mild steel, carbon steel.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your plasma cutter.

  • Consumables Inspection: Regularly inspect the torch consumables (electrode, nozzle, swirl ring, shield cup) for wear. Replace them when they show signs of damage or excessive wear to maintain cut quality and prevent torch damage.
  • Air Filter/Regulator: Check the air regulator and any associated filters for moisture or debris. Drain any accumulated moisture and clean or replace filters as needed to ensure clean, dry air supply to the torch.
  • Cleaning: Keep the machine clean and free of metal dust and debris. Use compressed air to blow out internal components periodically, ensuring the machine is unplugged first.
  • Cable Inspection: Inspect all cables (power, torch, earth) for cuts, fraying, or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the plasma cutter in a dry, clean environment, protected from dust and extreme temperatures.
