5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Device Not Connecting
- Wi-Fi Network: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. Matter devices do not support 5 GHz networks.
- Bluetooth: Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone during the initial setup.
- Hub Requirement: Confirm you have a Matter-compatible hub (e.g., Apple HomePod, Google Nest Hub, Amazon Echo) properly set up and connected.
- Firmware: Ensure your smartphone's OS (iOS 16.1+ or Android 8.1+) and Bluetooth (4.2+) are up to date.
5.2 Advanced Features Not Accessible
Advanced features like energy monitoring, firmware updates, and specific scheduling options are only available through the Meross app. Ensure your device is added to the Meross app after initial Matter pairing.
5.3 Loss of Connection
If the smart plug loses connection to the Wi-Fi network, it should automatically reconnect once the network is restored. If issues persist, try restarting your Wi-Fi router and the smart plug.
5.4 Matter Pairing Code Issues
Temporary pairing codes generated for Multi-Admin setup are valid for a limited time (approx. 3 minutes). If the code expires, generate a new one from the platform where the device was initially added.
