Setup

1. Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts are present and undamaged. Refer to the packing list for a complete inventory.

2. Mounting the Downrigger

The downrigger should be securely mounted to a stable surface on your boat, such as the transom or gunnel. Ensure the mounting location provides clear access for operation and does not interfere with other boat functions.

3. Spooling the Line

The downrigger comes with a pre-spooled line. If re-spooling or replacing the line, ensure it is properly wound onto the spool to prevent tangles and ensure smooth operation.

4. Attaching the Boom End Pulley

The enclosed 24" stainless steel boom end pulley is designed to prevent jump lines and ensure smooth line movement. Attach it securely to the end of the downrigger boom.

5. Attaching the Snap Release

The 18-inch snap release is used to attach your fishing line to the downrigger weight. Securely attach the snap release to the downrigger line.

Operating Instructions

1. Attaching the Downrigger Weight

Attach your desired downrigger weight (not included) to the snap release. Ensure the weight is securely fastened.

2. Deploying the Line and Weight

The Easi-Troll features a One-Hand Clutch Deploy system for controlled and precise bait positioning.

  1. Engage Clutch: Ensure the clutch is engaged to hold the line.
  2. Attach Fishing Line: Clip your fishing line to the snap release.
  3. Release Clutch: Slowly release the clutch to allow the weight to descend. Control the descent speed by adjusting the clutch tension.
  4. Monitor Depth: Use the integrated line counter to monitor the depth of your downrigger weight.

3. Retrieving the Line and Weight

The downrigger offers a fast, effortless 1.5:1 retrieval speed using the ergonomic crank handle.

  1. Crank Handle: Turn the ergonomic crank handle clockwise to retrieve the line and weight.
  2. Consistent Speed: Maintain a consistent cranking speed for smooth retrieval.
  3. Remove Fishing Line: Once the weight is near the surface, unclip your fishing line from the snap release.

4. Adjusting the Rod Holder

The integrated rod holder can be adjusted to various angles to accommodate different fishing setups and preferences. Loosen the adjustment knob, position the rod holder, and tighten the knob to secure it.
