DO ALL OUTDOORS AWK45 Auto Adjustable Wobbler Kit - Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the DO ALL OUTDOORS AWK45 Auto Adjustable Wobbler Kit. This kit is designed to enhance your clay pigeon shooting experience by introducing dynamic and unpredictable target presentations when used with compatible automatic clay thrower traps.

The Wobbler Kit seamlessly integrates with Do-All Outdoors Raven and Fowl Play automatic traps, replacing the standard pivot mount. It generates varied target trajectories, including random incomers, away shots, fast quarters, and passing shots, simulating real-life shooting scenarios.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: This product may contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Always exercise caution and follow all safety guidelines when operating any shooting equipment.

  • Always wear appropriate eye and ear protection when operating or near clay thrower equipment.
  • Ensure the area is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the trap and wobbler kit.
  • Disconnect power before performing any maintenance, adjustments, or installation.
  • Keep hands and loose clothing away from moving parts.
  • Read and understand the instruction manual for your primary clay thrower trap (Fowl Play or Raven) in conjunction with this manual.

4. Setup and Installation

The Wobbler Kit is designed for seamless mounting to the Do-All Outdoors Raven and Fowl Play automatic traps. It replaces the existing pivot mount of your trap.

  1. Prepare the Trap: Ensure your Fowl Play or Raven trap is powered off and disconnected from its battery. Remove the existing pivot mount and any associated legs or base components as per your trap's manual.
  2. Attach Support Legs: Secure the four provided support legs to the base of the Wobbler Kit main assembly using the supplied hardware. Ensure all connections are tight and stable.
  3. Mount the Trap: Position your Fowl Play or Raven automatic trap onto the top mounting plate of the Wobbler Kit. Align the mounting holes and secure the trap using appropriate bolts, nuts, and washers. The Wobbler Kit is designed with pre-drilled holes to match these traps.
  4. Connect Power: Connect the Wobbler Kit's power cable to a 12-volt battery (not included). Ensure correct polarity. The Wobbler Kit operates independently of the trap's power, though both can share the same 12-volt source.
  5. Select Directional Plate: Choose either the Left-to-Right Directional Plate or the Wobble Directional Plate based on your desired target pattern. Attach the selected plate to the designated area on the Wobbler Kit.

5. Operating Instructions

The Wobbler Kit introduces horizontal and vertical movement to your clay trap, creating a more challenging and realistic shooting experience.

  1. Power On: Once installed and connected to a 12-volt battery, activate the power switch on the Wobbler Kit.
  2. Movement Range: The kit moves 45 degrees from left to right horizontally and 15 to 45 degrees up and down vertically. This combined motion ensures a wide variety of target presentations.
  3. Directional Plates:
    • Left-to-Right Plate: When this plate is installed, the Wobbler Kit will primarily oscillate horizontally, providing targets that move across a 45-degree arc.
    • Wobble Plate: When this plate is installed, the Wobbler Kit will engage both horizontal and vertical movement, creating a more unpredictable 'wobbling' trajectory for the targets.
  4. Target Simulation: The random movement patterns simulate various bird flight paths, enhancing training for different shooting disciplines.

6. Maintenance

The Wobbler Kit is constructed of weatherproof steel, designed for durability in outdoor conditions. Regular maintenance will ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the unit to remove dirt, dust, and clay residue. Use a damp cloth and mild detergent if necessary. Ensure all electrical connections are dry before storage.
  • Lubrication: Periodically inspect moving parts, such as gears and pivot points, for wear. Apply a suitable lubricant (e.g., silicone spray or light grease) to ensure smooth operation and prevent squeaking. Avoid over-lubricating, which can attract dirt.
  • Hardware Check: Regularly check all bolts, nuts, and fasteners to ensure they are tight. Vibrations during operation can sometimes loosen connections.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the Wobbler Kit in a dry, protected area to prevent exposure to extreme weather conditions, which can prolong its lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Wobbler Kit, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Wobbler Kit is not moving. No power, loose connection, or depleted battery.Check battery charge, ensure power cable is securely connected, and verify the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
Squeaking noises during operation.Lack of lubrication on moving parts.Apply a suitable lubricant to gears and pivot points as described in the Maintenance section.
Clays fall out or trap shakes violently.Improper mounting or loose connections between the trap and wobbler.Ensure the trap is securely mounted to the wobbler kit and all bolts are tightened. Verify the trap itself is functioning correctly before attaching the wobbler.
Movement is erratic or limited.Obstruction, damaged directional plate, or motor issue.Inspect for any obstructions. Check the directional plate for damage. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
