1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Pafolo Slot Car Race Track Set, Model A64-20A. This exciting race track offers over 23 feet of customizable track length, featuring loops, turns, straightaways, and a crossover for dynamic racing action. Designed for two players, it includes four high-speed slot cars and dual lap counters to enhance competitive play. Enjoy the flexibility of two power modes: electric adapter or 6xAA battery operation (batteries not included).

2. Safety Information

  • Recommended Age: This product is suitable for ages 3 years and up. Adult supervision is recommended during assembly and play.
  • Track Connection: Always ensure track pieces are snapped tightly and securely together. Loose connections can cause cars to derail or power interruptions.
  • Power Source: Use only the provided power adapter or 6xAA batteries (not included). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
  • Car Brushes: If a car's brush becomes messy, gently stretch it and fan out the ends slightly. Ensure brushes are independent and not touching each other to prevent short circuits and ensure proper car function. The power board includes short-circuit protection for safety.
  • Choking Hazard: This set contains small parts. Keep away from very young children to prevent choking.

4. Setup & Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your race track:

  1. Plan Your Layout: Refer to the included user manual or product page for suggested track layouts. The flexible tracks allow for various DIY configurations.
  2. Connect Track Pieces: Carefully snap the track pieces together, ensuring each connection is tight and secure. You should hear a click when pieces are properly joined.
  3. Install Supports: For elevated sections and loops, attach the provided supports to the track pieces. Ensure they are stable and provide adequate height.
  4. Attach Guardrails: Place guardrails on the outer edges of curves to help prevent cars from derailing.
  5. Connect Power: The track can be powered by the included electric adapter or 6xAA batteries (not included). Insert the adapter into the designated power input on the track's power base, or install batteries into the battery compartment.
  6. Connect Controllers: Plug the two speed controllers into the corresponding ports on the track's power base.
  7. Place Cars: Carefully place the slot cars onto their respective tracks, ensuring the guide pins align with the track slots.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Start Racing: Once the track is fully assembled and cars are in place, press the trigger on your speed controller to start your car.
  2. Variable Speed Control: The controllers offer variable speed, allowing you to adjust how fast your car goes. Practice controlling your speed to navigate turns and loops effectively.
  3. Lap Counter: The dual racing game lap counter automatically registers each completed lap. Compete with a friend to see who can complete a set number of laps first!
  4. Navigating Challenges: Reduce speed slightly before entering sharp turns or loops to prevent cars from flying off the track. Accelerate on straightaways for maximum speed.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning Tracks: Regularly wipe down track surfaces with a clean, dry cloth to remove dust and debris, which can affect car performance.
  • Car Brush Maintenance: The small metal brushes on the underside of each car are crucial for power transfer. If they become bent or tangled, gently straighten them and fan out the ends. Ensure they are not touching each other to prevent short circuits.
  • Storage: When not in use, disassemble the track and store all components in their original packaging or a suitable container to prevent damage and loss of parts.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Cars Not Moving:
    • Check all track connections to ensure they are tight.
    • Verify the power adapter is securely plugged into both the track and a working outlet, or that batteries are correctly installed and not depleted.
    • Inspect the car's brushes for proper contact with the track rails and ensure they are clean and untangled.
    • Ensure the speed controller is fully plugged in and functioning.
  • Cars Flying Off Track:
    • Reduce speed, especially when entering turns or loops.
    • Ensure guardrails are properly installed on curves.
    • Check track connections for any gaps or misalignments.
  • Lap Counter Not Working:
    • Ensure the lap counter section is correctly installed and connected to the main track.
    • Verify cars are passing directly over the sensor area.
