1.2 Preparation

Before mounting any device, attach the included tripod to the 1/4-inch screw hole at the bottom of the iSteady MT2 handle. Ensure the tripod legs are fully extended for stability. Unfold all three motor arms and toggle the three motor lock switches to unlock the axes. This allows for free movement during balancing.

1.3 Mounting & Balancing

Proper balancing is crucial for optimal gimbal performance and to prevent motor strain. Always adjust your camera lens to the desired focal length before balancing.

Mounting & Balancing a Camera

Mount your camera onto the camera quick release plate and tighten the screw. Loosen the L-Bracket with the thumb screw wrench (magnetically attached on the L-Bracket). Attach the camera with the quick release plate onto the L-Bracket, aligning one side of the L-bracket against the handle side of the camera, taking into account the camera's width. Then tighten the screw on the bottom firmly.

Mounting & Balancing a Mobile Phone

Mount the mobile phone onto the phone quick release plate in the middle. Then attach them onto the L-Bracket. Follow the same balancing steps as for a mirrorless camera.

Mounting & Balancing an Action Camera

Attach the action camera assembly onto the L-Bracket. Some action cameras have a standard expansion port at the bottom for installation of an Arca-Swiss quick release plate. In the case of the GoPro Hero 11, you will need to use an adapter to install the Arca-Swiss quick release plate. Follow the same balancing steps as for a mirrorless camera.

It is recommended to use a 5V/2A charger (not included). Connect the provided Type-A to Type-C charging cable to charge the iSteady MT2. The iSteady MT2 also supports reverse charging, allowing you to charge your camera, mobile phone, and other devices through the Type-C power output port located on the tilt motor side. 2.3 Motor Torque Auto Self-Adaptation

If the iSteady MT2 vibrates and "ERROR 03" shows on the OLED screen when the gimbal is powered on, it indicates an imbalance or motor torque issue. You can resolve this by adjusting the motor torque. Long-press the M button to enter the OLED sub-menu. Push the Joystick downwards to select AUTO. Press once the M button to confirm. The motor will adapt to the weight of the currently mounted device and automatically adjust the motor torque. When it stops flashing, the self-adaptation is completed.

2.4 AI Tracking

The iSteady MT2 supports AI tracking for enhanced shooting. To use AI tracking, ensure the AI tracker is installed and activated (green light). Position your face and hand in front of the AI tracker simultaneously. Perform the "OK" hand gesture to activate the AI tracker. The indicator light will turn green, and the gimbal will begin tracking. The optimal tracking distance is between 1.6ft-4.9ft (0.5-1.5m). Avoid getting too close or too far from the AI camera lens while making hand gestures, as this can affect recognition. To stop AI tracking, perform the "palm" hand gesture.

The hohem Joy App (available on App Store and Google Play) unlocks additional features and controls for your iSteady MT2. Ensure Bluetooth is connected. The app allows for advanced settings, firmware updates, and specific camera control functionalities.
