4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your ASHATA M9 Plus Wireless Display Adapter.
4.1. Initial Connection
- Connect to Display: Plug the HDMI connector of the M9 Plus dongle into an available HDMI port on your TV, projector, or monitor.
- Power On: Connect the USB power cable to the dongle's micro-USB port, then plug the USB-A end into a 5V/1A power source. This can be a USB port on your TV or an external USB power adapter (not included).
- Select Input: Turn on your display device and select the correct HDMI input source to which the M9 Plus is connected.
- Boot Screen: The M9 Plus boot screen will appear on your display, showing the device's SSID (WiFi network name) and password, along with an IP address for configuration.
4.2. Connecting to Home WiFi (Optional but Recommended)
To ensure stable streaming and internet access for your mirrored device, connect the M9 Plus to your home WiFi network.
- Connect Your Device: On your smartphone, tablet, or computer, connect to the M9 Plus's WiFi network (SSID and password displayed on the TV screen).
- Access Configuration Page: Open a web browser on your connected device and enter the IP address shown on the TV screen (e.g.,
192.168.49.1). - Select Home WiFi: On the configuration page, select "Internet" or "WiFi Setup". Scan for available WiFi networks and choose your home WiFi network. Enter the password for your home WiFi and click "Connect".
- Confirm Connection: The M9 Plus will restart and connect to your home WiFi. The TV screen will update to show that the dongle is now connected to your home network. Your device will automatically reconnect to your home WiFi if it was previously connected.
4.3. Screen Mirroring for iOS Devices (AirPlay)
- Ensure your iOS device (iPhone, iPad) is connected to the same WiFi network as the M9 Plus (your home WiFi, if configured, or directly to the M9 Plus's WiFi).
- Swipe down from the top-right corner (or up from the bottom for older models) to open the Control Center.
- Tap on "Screen Mirroring" or "AirPlay Mirroring".
- Select the M9 Plus device from the list. Your iOS device screen will now be mirrored to the display.
4.4. Screen Mirroring for Android Devices (Miracast/Smart View)
- Ensure your Android device is connected to the same WiFi network as the M9 Plus (your home WiFi, if configured, or directly to the M9 Plus's WiFi).
- Navigate to your device's settings and look for screen mirroring features. The name may vary by manufacturer (e.g., "Smart View" on Samsung, "Screen Cast" on Xiaomi, "Wireless Display" on others, or simply "Miracast").
- Enable the feature and select the M9 Plus device from the list of available devices. Your Android device screen will now be mirrored to the display.
4.5. Screen Mirroring for Windows PCs (Miracast)
- Ensure your Windows PC is connected to the same WiFi network as the M9 Plus.
- On your Windows 10/11 PC, press the
Windows key + Kor go to Settings > System > Display > Multiple displays > Connect to a wireless display. - Select the M9 Plus device from the list. Your PC screen will now be mirrored or extended to the display.
5. Operating Instructions
Once connected, the M9 Plus will automatically mirror the content from your source device to the connected display. Any actions performed on your source device will be reflected on the larger screen in real-time.
- Mirror Mode: The primary function is to duplicate your device's screen onto the display.
- DLNA Mode: For compatible apps, you can cast media files directly to the M9 Plus without mirroring your entire screen, allowing your device to perform other tasks.
- To disconnect, simply turn off the screen mirroring feature on your source device or unplug the M9 Plus from the display.
