5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your generator. Always ensure the engine is off and cool before performing any maintenance.

5.1 Engine Oil

Check the engine oil level before each use. Change the oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 100 hours or every 6 months, whichever comes first. Use SAE 10W-30 oil.

5.2 Air Filter

Inspect the air filter regularly and clean or replace it as needed, especially in dusty conditions. A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance and increase fuel consumption.

5.3 Spark Plug

Inspect the spark plug annually or every 100 hours. Clean or replace it if it is fouled or damaged. Refer to the specifications for the correct spark plug type and gap.

5.4 Storage

For extended storage, drain the fuel system completely or add a fuel stabilizer to the gasoline. Store the generator in a clean, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your generator.

6.1 Engine Will Not Start

  • Check fuel level and ensure the correct fuel type is selected.
  • Verify engine oil level. The generator will not start if the oil is too low.
  • Ensure the engine switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • Check the spark plug for fouling or damage.

6.2 No Power Output

  • Check if the circuit breakers on the control panel have tripped. Reset if necessary.
  • Ensure the generator is not overloaded. Reduce the connected load.
  • Verify that all connections are secure.

6.3 CO Sensor Activation

If the CO sensor light illuminates and the generator shuts down, move the generator to an open, well-ventilated area immediately. Allow it to cool down and ventilate before attempting to restart. Do not operate the generator in enclosed or partially enclosed spaces.
