This device offers advanced features such as a 4-color Charge Mode Status LED bar, a dual-function battery gauge, and selectable performance profiles to optimize battery life and performance. Its weatherproof construction and integrated cable management make it suitable for both portable and wall-mounted use.

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, setup, and maintenance of your OPTIMA D200+ charger.

Important Safety Information

Read all instructions before using this product.

• Always wear eye protection and protective clothing when working with batteries.
• Ensure adequate ventilation when charging batteries to prevent the accumulation of explosive gases.
• Never smoke or allow a spark or flame in the vicinity of a battery or engine.
• Connect and disconnect DC output clamps only after setting the charger switch to the OFF position and removing the AC cord from the electrical outlet.
• Do not expose the charger to rain or excessive moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged.
• Ensure the AC power cord is properly routed to prevent tripping hazards or damage.

Setup

Connecting to a Battery

1. Ensure the OPTIMA D200+ is disconnected from AC power.
2. Connect the red positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
3. Connect the black negative (-) clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the battery. For vehicle applications, if the battery is installed in the vehicle, connect the black negative (-) clamp to the vehicle chassis or engine block away from the battery.
4. Once the clamps are securely connected, plug the AC power cord into a standard electrical outlet.

Wall Mounting (Optional)

The D200+ can be mounted using the provided wall organizer bracket. Secure the bracket to a suitable surface using appropriate mounting hardware (not included). The charger unit then slides into the bracket for secure storage.

Operating Instructions

Power On and Initial Status

Once connected to both the battery and AC power, the charger will power on. The "Power" LED will illuminate, and the "Connected" LED will turn green if the connection is successful.

Battery Type Selection

The D200+ supports three battery types: OPTIMA LiFePO4, AGM, and Flooded. Press the "Select" button (located near the battery type indicators) to cycle through the options until the correct battery type is illuminated.

Pre-Charge Battery Test

Before charging, you can perform a pre-charge battery test. Press the "Test" button to view the current battery charge level on the dual-function battery gauge. This gauge displays the charge percentage from 0% to 100%.

Charging Process and Status Indicators

Once the battery type is selected, the D200+ will automatically begin the charging process. The 4-color Charge Mode Status LED bar will indicate the current charging phase:

• Analyze: Blue pulsing light.
• Charge: Solid red light.
• Conditioning: Solid amber light.
• Auto Maintain: Solid green light.
• Fault: OFF (no light).

The charger will transition to "Auto Maintain" mode once the battery is fully charged, ensuring optimal battery health without overcharging.

Maintenance

• Keep the charger clean and dry. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth if necessary.
• Regularly inspect the AC power cord and DC output cables for any signs of damage, cuts, or fraying. Do not use the charger if cables are damaged.
• Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use. Utilize the integrated cable management wrap for tidy storage.
• Ensure battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion before connecting the charger.
