Introduction
The CAYIN RU7 is a portable USB DAC/Amp dongle designed to deliver unparalleled audio excellence. Featuring a custom-built micro-miniaturized 1-bit Resistive Ladder DAC, it effortlessly converts digital signals to immersive analog sound. Setup
- Connecting to a Device:
The RU7 connects to your audio source (smartphone, tablet, computer) via its USB Type-C port. Use the provided Type-C cable or USB A to C adaptor as needed for your device.

- Headphone Connection:
The RU7 features both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs. Connect your headphones to the appropriate port. For optimal performance with compatible headphones, utilize the 4.4mm balanced output.

- Power On:
The RU7 draws power directly from the connected USB device. Once connected, the OLED screen will illuminate, indicating the device is powered on and ready for use.
- Driver Installation (for Computers):
For Windows 7/8/8.1/10 computers, specific drivers may be required for optimal performance. Please visit the official CAYIN website for the latest driver downloads. macOS and iOS/iPadOS devices typically do not require additional drivers.
Operating Instructions
Volume Control
The RU7 features discrete resistor network volume control with 100 precise steps. Use the dedicated volume buttons (+ and -) located on the side of the device to adjust the output volume. Note that switching relays may introduce short delays during volume adjustment.
Mode Button
The 'MODE' button allows you to navigate through various settings and options displayed on the OLED screen. Press the 'MODE' button to cycle through available menus, and use the volume buttons to select or adjust parameters within the menu.
OLED Screen Display
The high-resolution OLED screen (128x64 pixels) displays important playback information such as current sample rate, volume level, and output mode (PO/LO).
Output Modes (PO/LO)
The 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs can function as either Headphone Out (PO) or Line Out (LO). The Line Out mode provides a fixed, unamplified output suitable for connecting to external amplifiers or active speakers. Refer to the on-screen menu for switching between these modes.

Maintenance
- Cleaning:
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they may damage the finish or screen.
- Storage:
When not in use, store the RU7 in its provided protective leather case to prevent scratches and minor impacts. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

- Cable Care:
Handle the Type-C cable and USB A to C adaptor with care. Avoid bending or twisting them excessively, which can damage the internal wires.
