Introduction

Thank you for choosing the HoMedics 5-in-1 Tower Air Purifier. This manual provides important information regarding the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new air purifier. Please read it thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons. This includes:

• Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
• Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
• Unplug the appliance from the outlet when not in use, and before cleaning or maintenance.
• Do not use outdoors.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

The HoMedics 5-in-1 Tower Air Purifier is designed to provide comprehensive air purification for your home. Its key features include:

• HEPA-Type Filter: Removes up to 99% of airborne allergens like pollen, dust, pet dander, germs, odor, mold spores, and smoke as small as 0.3 microns.
• Complete Clean: UV-C Technology reduces bacteria, virus, mold & fungus in the air; ionizer assists with particle removal and enhances air purification.
• Breathe Easier: Built-in activated carbon filter reduces unpleasant household odors and VOCs for noticeably fresher air; prefilter captures dust, hair, and larger particles.
• Purify Medium Spaces: Great for bedrooms, home offices, and family rooms; cleans the air in a 176 sq. ft. room every 12.5 minutes or in an 853 sq. ft. room 1 time per hour.

Package Contents

Upon unpacking your HoMedics Air Purifier, please ensure all items are present:

• (1) HoMedics Air Purifier T22
• (3) Essential Oil Pads
• (1) 3-in-1 HEPA-Type Filter (pre-installed)

Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup:

1. Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove the air purifier from its packaging.
2. Positioning: Place the air purifier on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is at least 6 inches (15 cm) of clearance from walls or furniture for optimal airflow.
3. Filter Installation: The 3-in-1 HEPA-Type filter comes pre-installed. Before first use, open the filter compartment (refer to Maintenance section for details) and ensure the filter is securely in place and any protective packaging is removed.
4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard AC outlet.

Operating Instructions

Your HoMedics Air Purifier features intuitive controls located on the top panel:

• Power Button (⏻): Press to turn the unit ON or OFF.
• Fan Speed Button (⁕): Press repeatedly to cycle through 4 fan speeds: Low, Medium, High, and Sleep Mode. Sleep Mode operates at the lowest fan speed for quiet operation.
• UV-C Button (UV-C): Press to activate or deactivate the UV-C light, which helps reduce bacteria, viruses, mold, and fungus.
• Ionizer Button (ION): Press to turn the ionizer ON or OFF. The ionizer assists with particle removal.
• Timer Button (◷): Press to set the operating timer for 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours. The unit will automatically turn off after the selected time.
• Light Button (☀): Press to turn the control panel lights ON or OFF. This is useful for nighttime use.

Using the Essential Oil Tray

To use the aromatherapy feature:

1. Locate the essential oil tray on the side of the unit (marked "OIL TRAY - PUSH HERE").
2. Gently push the tray to release and pull it out.
3. Add 5-7 drops of your preferred essential oil onto the included essential oil pad.
4. Slide the tray back into the unit until it clicks into place.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your air purifier.

Cleaning the Unit

• Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
• Wipe the exterior of the air purifier with a soft, damp cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Filter Replacement

The filter indicator light will illuminate when it's time to replace the 3-in-1 HEPA-Type filter. For best performance, replace the filter every 12 months, or more frequently depending on air quality and usage.

1. Unplug the air purifier from the power outlet.
2. Locate the filter compartment door on the side of the unit.
3. Open the door and carefully remove the old filter.
4. Insert a new HoMedics 3-in-1 HEPA-Type Filter (Replacement Model: AP-T20FL) into the compartment, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
5. Close the filter compartment door securely.
6. Plug the unit back in.
7. To reset the filter indicator, press and hold the UV-C button for 3 seconds until the light turns off.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your air purifier, please consult the following common problems and solutions:

• Unit does not turn on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the filter compartment door is fully closed.
• Reduced airflow: The filter may be dirty and require cleaning or replacement. Ensure there are no obstructions around the air intake or outlet.
• Unusual noise: Check for any foreign objects inside the unit or if the filter is improperly installed.
• Odor persists: The carbon filter may be saturated and require replacement. Ensure the room is adequately ventilated.
