Setup and Installation
This Kichler Universal LED Fan Light Kit is designed for straightforward installation on most standard ceiling fans. Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding.
Pre-Installation Checks:
- Turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Ensure your existing ceiling fan is compatible with a universal light kit.
- Gather necessary tools (e.g., screwdriver, wire strippers, electrical tape).
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Ceiling Fan: Carefully remove any existing light kit or cover from your ceiling fan according to its manufacturer's instructions.
- Connect Wiring: Connect the electrical wires from the light kit to the corresponding wires in the ceiling fan. Typically, this involves connecting the black wire from the light kit to the black (hot) wire from the fan, and the white wire from the light kit to the white (neutral) wire from the fan. Secure connections with wire nuts and electrical tape.
- Select Color Temperature (CCT): Before mounting the diffuser, locate the CCT selectable switch on the light kit. Choose your desired color temperature: 3000K (Soft White) for warm, cozy lighting or 5000K (Daylight) for crisp, bright illumination. This setting is typically made during installation.
- Mount the Light Kit: Align the light kit with the mounting points on your ceiling fan. Secure it using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure the light kit is firmly attached and stable.
- Attach Diffuser: Carefully attach the white diffuser to the light kit. Ensure it is securely fastened to prevent it from falling.
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, restore power at the main fuse or circuit breaker box.

Operating Instructions
- Turning On/Off: Use the pull chain on the light kit or your ceiling fan's wall switch/remote control (if applicable) to turn the light on or off.
- Dimming Functionality: This light kit is dimmable down to 20% brightness. To utilize the dimming feature, ensure you are using a compatible dimmer switch. Adjust the dimmer switch to achieve your desired light output.
- Color Temperature (CCT): The color temperature (3000K or 5000K) is selected during installation via a switch on the light kit. It is not adjustable during normal operation without accessing the light kit.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: To clean the light kit, ensure power is off. Wipe the diffuser and metal parts with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes as they may damage the finish or electrical components.
- LED Lifespan: The integrated LED module is designed for long-lasting performance and does not require bulb replacement. If the LED light fails, the entire light kit may need to be replaced.
- Inspection: Periodically check all connections and mounting hardware to ensure they remain secure.
