1. Important Safety Instructions

2. Product Components

3. Setup and Assembly
3.1 Attaching the Backing Plate
- Ensure the polisher is unplugged from the power source.
- Locate the spindle on the polisher head. Remove any protective cap from the spindle.
- Align the backing plate with the spindle. The backing plate has a threaded insert that screws onto the spindle.
- Hand-tighten the backing plate onto the spindle.
- Use the provided hex wrench to secure the backing plate firmly. Insert the wrench into the designated slot on the polisher head to hold the spindle in place while tightening the backing plate.

3.2 Attaching the Side Handle
The detachable side handle can be attached to either side of the polisher for comfortable and safe operation, depending on user preference.
- Identify the threaded holes on both sides of the polisher's gear housing.
- Screw the side handle into the desired threaded hole until it is securely fastened.

3.3 Attaching Polishing Pads
The polisher utilizes a hook-and-loop (Velcro) design for quick and easy pad changes.
- Select the appropriate polishing pad for your task (e.g., sponge pads for polishing/waxing, wool pad for compounding).
- Align the chosen pad with the hook-and-loop surface of the backing plate.
- Press the pad firmly onto the backing plate to ensure secure adhesion.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On and Off
The polisher features an ON/OFF trigger and a safety lock button for continuous operation.
- To start the polisher, press the ON/OFF trigger.
- For continuous operation, press the safety lock button while the trigger is depressed. This will keep the polisher running without needing to hold the trigger.
- To turn off the polisher from continuous operation, press the ON/OFF trigger again.

4.2 Variable Speed Control
The polisher is equipped with a 6-level variable speed dial, allowing adjustment from 1000 to 3500 RPM to suit various tasks and materials.
- The speed control dial is located on the top middle of the polisher.
- Rotate the dial to select the desired speed setting. Lower speeds are generally used for spreading compounds and finishing, while higher speeds are for cutting and correcting.
- Always start at the lowest speed setting when beginning a task to prevent splatter and ensure control. Adjust speed as needed during operation.
4.3 Polishing and Waxing Applications
The AOBEN rotary polisher is suitable for various applications, including polishing and removing swirls, scratches, and defects from painted vehicles, as well as use on furniture, ceramic, wood, and metal surfaces.
- Ensure the surface is clean and free of debris before starting.
- Apply a small amount of polishing compound or wax directly to the pad or the work surface.
- Place the polisher flat on the surface before turning it on to prevent splatter.
- Move the polisher in a consistent, overlapping pattern (e.g., cross-hatch) to ensure even coverage.
- Maintain light, even pressure. Avoid pressing down too hard, as this can generate excessive heat and damage the surface.
- After polishing, wipe off any residue with a clean microfiber cloth.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Polisher
- Always unplug the polisher before cleaning.
- Wipe down the exterior of the polisher with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure ventilation openings are clear of dust and debris to maintain proper motor cooling.
5.2 Pad Care
- After each use, remove the polishing pad from the backing plate.
- Clean pads thoroughly to remove compound or wax residue. This can be done by rinsing with water and a mild detergent, then allowing them to air dry completely.
- Store pads in a clean, dry environment to prevent contamination.
6. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- Polisher does not turn on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Ensure the ON/OFF trigger is fully depressed and the safety lock is not engaged incorrectly.
- Excessive vibration or noise: Ensure the backing plate and polishing pad are securely attached and not damaged. Check for any foreign objects caught in the rotating mechanism.
- Poor polishing results: Verify that the correct type of pad and compound/wax is being used for the task. Ensure the surface is clean. Adjust the speed setting as necessary.
- Overheating: Allow the tool to cool down. Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked. Avoid applying excessive pressure during operation.
