Setup Guide
1. Charging the Keyboard
For optimal performance, fully charge the keyboard before first use. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the keyboard's USB-C port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, wall adapter). The charging indicator light will show the charging status.
2. Connectivity Modes
The Keychron K1 Pro supports both wireless (Bluetooth) and wired (USB Type-C) connections.

Bluetooth Connection:
- Locate the mode switch on the side of the keyboard. Slide it to the Bluetooth position.
- Press Fn + 1 (or Fn + 2 / Fn + 3) for 4 seconds until the backlight flashes rapidly. This indicates the keyboard is in pairing mode.
- On your device (computer, tablet, phone), enable Bluetooth and search for "Keychron K1 Pro".
- Select the keyboard to pair. Once connected, the backlight will stop flashing.
- To switch between paired devices, press Fn + 1, Fn + 2, or Fn + 3.
Wired Connection:
- Locate the mode switch on the side of the keyboard. Slide it to the Cable position.
- Connect the provided USB Type-C cable from the keyboard to your device's USB port.
- The keyboard will be recognized automatically by your operating system.
3. Operating System Layout Switch
The K1 Pro includes keycaps for both Windows and macOS layouts. Use the OS switch on the side of the keyboard to select the appropriate layout for your operating system.

Operating Instructions
Backlight Control
The K1 Pro features a white LED backlight with 14 types of settings. Use the following key combinations to control the backlight:
- Fn + Light Key (usually F5 or a dedicated light icon key): Cycle through backlight effects.
- Fn + Up Arrow: Increase backlight brightness.
- Fn + Down Arrow: Decrease backlight brightness.
- Fn + Left Arrow: Decrease backlight effect speed.
- Fn + Right Arrow: Increase backlight effect speed.

QMK/VIA Programmability
The Keychron K1 Pro is fully programmable with QMK/VIA firmware, allowing you to remap keys, create macros, and customize lighting effects. To use VIA, connect the keyboard via USB-C cable.
- Download the VIA software from the official Keychron website.
- Connect your K1 Pro keyboard to your computer using the USB Type-C cable.
- Launch the VIA software. The software should automatically detect your keyboard.
- Use the intuitive graphical interface to remap keys, create complex macros, and adjust lighting. Changes are applied in real-time.

Hot-Swappable Switches
The K1 Pro features hot-swappable sockets, allowing you to change switches without soldering. This supports any MX mechanical switch.
- Power off the keyboard or disconnect the USB cable.
- Use the provided keycap puller to carefully remove the desired keycap.
- Use the provided switch puller to gently pull the switch straight up from the PCB.
- Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and press it firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure pins are not bent.
- Replace the keycap.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Keyboard
- Disconnect the keyboard from your device before cleaning.
- Use a can of compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps.
- For stubborn dirt, gently wipe the keycaps and keyboard surface with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid excessive moisture.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Battery Care
- Avoid exposing the keyboard to extreme temperatures.
- If storing the keyboard for an extended period, charge it to about 50% to prolong battery life.
