Thank you for choosing the HIBREW H1A Multi-Capsule Espresso Coffee Machine. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new coffee machine. Please read it thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.
Important Safety Instructions
- Read all instructions before using the appliance.
- Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
- Ensure the voltage specified on the appliance matches your local power supply.
- Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
- Unplug the machine when not in use and before cleaning.
- Do not operate the machine with a damaged cord or plug.
- Use only clean, cold water in the water tank.
- Avoid contact with hot surfaces.
2. Product Components

3. First Use and Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Ensure all components listed in Section 2 are present and undamaged. Keep packaging for future transport if needed.
3.2 Initial Cleaning
- Remove the water tank and wash it with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Clean the drip tray and any capsule adapters with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
3.3 Filling the Water Tank
- Fill the water tank with fresh, cold drinking water up to the MAX level indicator.
- Place the water tank back onto the machine, ensuring it is securely seated.
3.4 Priming the Machine (First Use)
Before brewing coffee for the first time, or if the machine has not been used for a long period, it is essential to prime the system:
- Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Place an empty cup on the drip tray.
- Do not insert any capsule or ground coffee adapter.
- Plug the machine into a power outlet.
- Press the Power button. The machine will begin preheating.
- Once preheating is complete (buttons stop flashing), press the Lungo button. Water will dispense into the cup.
- Repeat this process 2-3 times to thoroughly flush the system.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On and Preheating
- Ensure the water tank is filled with fresh water.
- Plug the machine into a power outlet.
- Press the Power button. The machine will start preheating. The Short Espresso and Lungo buttons will flash during this time.
- Preheating typically takes about 40 seconds. The buttons will stop flashing and remain steadily lit when the machine is ready for brewing.
4.2 Using Different Adapters (4-in-1 Compatibility)
The HIBREW H1A is compatible with various coffee formats:

- Open the brewing chamber lid.
- Select the appropriate adapter for your chosen coffee format (Nes, DG, K-Cup, ES* pod, or ground coffee).
- Insert the capsule or fill the ground coffee adapter with your desired amount of coffee.
- Place the loaded adapter into the brewing chamber.
- Close the brewing chamber lid firmly until it clicks into place.
4.3 Brewing Coffee (Hot Brew Mode)
After preheating and inserting your coffee:

- Place a cup on the drip tray.
- For Hot Brew Mode, ensure the machine is preheated (buttons steadily lit).
- Press either the Short Espresso button (70 mL) or the Lungo button (110 mL). The machine will begin brewing.
- The brewing process will stop automatically once the selected volume is dispensed.
- To stop brewing manually at any time, press the active brew button again.
4.4 Cold Brew Mode
The HIBREW H1A also supports cold brewing:
- Insert your desired capsule or ground coffee adapter.
- Place a cup with ice on the drip tray.
- Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to enter Cold Brew Mode.
- Press either the Short Espresso or Lungo button to start brewing.
- Note: Cold brew mode brews at room temperature and does not have a refrigeration function. Add ice to your cup before brewing.
4.5 Customizing Brew Volume
You can customize the brew volume for both Short Espresso and Lungo buttons:

- Ensure the machine is preheated and an adapter is inserted (without a capsule for programming).
- Place a cup under the spout.
- Press and hold the desired brew button (Short Espresso or Lungo) until the desired volume is dispensed into the cup.
- Release the button. The new volume is now programmed for that button.
- To reset to factory settings, unplug the machine for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
4.6 Automatic Shut-off
For energy efficiency and safety, the HIBREW H1A features an automatic shut-off function. The machine will automatically turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee machine.
5.1 Daily Cleaning
- Water Tank: Empty and rinse the water tank daily. Refill with fresh water before each use.
- Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray after each use or when the indicator shows it's full. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Capsule Adapters: Remove and rinse the used capsule adapter after each brew. For ground coffee, discard used grounds and rinse the adapter.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the machine in water.
5.2 Descaling
Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your machine, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale your machine every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.
- Empty the water tank and drip tray.
- Fill the water tank with a descaling solution (follow the descaler manufacturer's instructions) or a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).
- Place a large container under the coffee spout.
- Turn on the machine and allow it to preheat.
- Run several Lungo cycles until the water tank is empty.
- Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
- Run several Lungo cycles with fresh water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your HIBREW H1A, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions.
