5. Setup and Installation

This griddle requires professional electrical installation due to its lack of a pre-installed plug.

5.1 Electrical Connection (Professional Installation Required)

  1. Ensure the main power supply is OFF before beginning any electrical work.
  2. Identify the power cord wires: Brown (Live/L), Blue (Neutral/N), and Yellow/Green (Earth/E).
  3. Connect the power cord to a suitable air switch or leakage protection switch. This connection must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes.
  4. Verify that the electrical supply is 110V and can safely handle a 3000W load.

6. Operation

6.1 Initial Use

  1. Before first use, clean the cooking plate with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly.
  2. Apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the griddle surface and heat it to a low temperature (e.g., 250°F / 120°C) for about 10-15 minutes. This helps to season the cast iron surface.
  3. Turn off the griddle and let it cool. Wipe off any excess oil. The griddle is now ready for use.

6.2 Cooking

  1. Ensure the griddle is properly connected to the power supply.
  2. Turn the temperature selection knob to the desired cooking temperature. The 'Power Light' (green) will illuminate, indicating the unit is powered on. The 'Hot Light' (orange) will illuminate when the heating elements are active and will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.
  3. Allow the griddle to preheat until the 'Hot Light' cycles off for the first time, indicating it has reached the set temperature.
  4. Place food directly onto the hot cooking surface.
  5. After cooking, turn the temperature selection knob to the 'OFF' position and disconnect the power supply.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING: Always ensure the griddle is turned off and completely cooled before cleaning to prevent burns and electrical hazards.

7.1 Daily Cleaning

  1. Remove Excess Food: While the griddle is still warm (but not hot), use a metal spatula or scraper to push food residues and grease into the drip hole, allowing them to collect in the oil collecting box.
  2. Empty Oil Box: Carefully remove and empty the oil collecting box. Clean it with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  3. Clean Surface: Once the griddle is cool, wipe the cooking surface with a damp cloth. For stubborn residues, a mild abrasive pad designed for griddles can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals or steel wool, which can damage the surface.
  4. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the stainless steel exterior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry immediately to prevent water spots.

7.2 Cast Iron Care

The cast iron cooking plate will naturally turn black after prolonged use. This is normal and not a quality issue. To prevent rust:

  • Always clean and dry the cooking plate promptly after each use.
  • After cleaning, apply a very thin layer of cooking oil to the surface to maintain its seasoning and protect against rust.

7.3 Storage

Ensure the griddle is clean and completely dry before storing. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Griddle does not heat up.No power supply; Temperature knob set to OFF; Faulty wiring.Check power connection and circuit breaker. Ensure temperature knob is set to a desired temperature. If wiring is suspected, consult a qualified electrician.
Uneven heating.Griddle not preheated sufficiently; Uneven food distribution.Allow adequate preheating time until the 'Hot Light' cycles off. Distribute food evenly across the cooking surface.
Smoke or odor during first use.Residual manufacturing oils burning off. This is normal for initial use. Ensure good ventilation. It should dissipate after a short period.
Grease leakage.Oil collecting box not properly installed or full; Gaps in griddle construction.Ensure the oil collecting box is correctly inserted and not overflowing. If leakage persists due to structural issues, contact customer support.
Cast iron surface rusting.Improper drying or seasoning after cleaning.Always dry the cooking plate thoroughly after cleaning. Apply a thin layer of cooking oil to season and protect the surface.
