4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Verify that all parts are present: scale base, weighing platter, and AC adapter.
3. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.

4.2 Platter Installation

• Place the stainless steel weighing platter securely onto the scale base. Ensure it sits flat and does not wobble.

4.3 Powering the Scale

The scale can be powered by either an AC adapter or D-size batteries.

• AC Adapter: Connect the AC adapter to the power input port on the scale and then plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
• Batteries: Open the battery compartment located on the underside of the scale. Insert four (4) D-size batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.

4.4 Leveling the Scale

• Place the scale on a firm, level surface.
• Adjust the leveling feet located at the bottom of the scale until the bubble in the level indicator (if present) is centered. This ensures accurate weighing.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Weighing

1. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the scale. The display will show '0.000' or '0.0' depending on the unit.
2. Place the item to be weighed onto the center of the weighing platter.
3. Read the stable weight displayed on the LCD.
4. To turn off the scale, press the ON/OFF button again.

5.2 Unit Conversion

• With the scale on and displaying a weight (or zero), press the UNIT button to cycle through available weighing units: lb, lb-oz, oz, kg.
• The selected unit will be indicated on the display.

5.3 Tare Function

The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so only the net weight of the contents is displayed.

1. Place an empty container onto the weighing platter. The scale will display its weight.
2. Press the TARE button. The display will reset to '0.000', indicating the container's weight has been tared.
3. Add the items to be weighed into the container. The display will show only the weight of the items.
4. To clear the tare, remove the container from the platter and press the TARE button again.
