5. Setup

5.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.

5.2 Power Supply

The scale can be powered by either the included AC adapter or four 'D' cell batteries (not included).

Place the stainless steel platter securely onto the scale base. Ensure it sits flat and does not wobble.

5.4 Initial Zeroing

After placing the scale on a stable, level surface and installing the platter, press the ON/OFF button to power on the scale. Wait for the display to stabilize and show '0.000'. If it does not, press the ZERO (→0←) button to zero the display.

6.1 Basic Weighing

  1. Power on the scale and ensure the display reads '0.000'.
  2. Place the item to be weighed onto the center of the platter.
  3. Read the stable weight displayed on the LCD.

6.2 Unit Selection

Press the UNIT button to cycle through available weighing units: pounds (lb), pounds-ounces (lb-oz), ounces (oz), and kilograms (kg). Select the desired unit for your application. Note that lb-oz is not legal for trade.

6.3 Tare Function

To weigh an item in a container:

  1. Place the empty container on the platter.
  2. Press the TARE (→T←) button. The display will return to '0.000' and the tare indicator will illuminate.
  3. Place the item to be weighed into the container. The display will show the net weight of the item.
  4. To clear the tare, remove the container and item, then press the TARE (→T←) button again.

6.4 Check Weighing

This mode allows you to check if a weight falls within a predefined target range (under, accept, over).

  1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until 'CHECK' or a similar indicator appears.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts or refer to the detailed setup instructions for setting the 'Under', 'Accept', and 'Over' weight limits.
  3. Place items on the platter; the scale will indicate if the weight is under, within, or over the set limits.
