5. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Soundmaster NR560:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Dust Cover Installation: Attach the included dust cover to the hinges at the rear of the unit.
  4. Turntable Mat: Place the protection mat onto the turntable platter.
  5. Antenna Connection: For optimal radio reception, connect an external 75 ohm antenna to the dedicated input at the rear of the unit.
  6. Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the AC IN port on the back of the unit, then plug the other end into a standard AC 230V ~ 50Hz wall outlet.
  7. Remote Control Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the remote control and insert two AAA batteries (not included), observing the correct polarity (+/-).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 General Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the POWER button on the front panel or remote control to turn the unit on or off.
  • Function Selection: Use the FUNCTION button on the unit or remote control to cycle through modes: PHONO (Turntable), CD, TAPE (Cassette), RADIO, USB, BLUETOOTH, AUX.
  • Volume Control: Rotate the VOLUME knob on the front panel or use the VOL+/- buttons on the remote control to adjust the sound level.

6.2 Turntable Operation

  1. Select the PHONO function.
  2. Open the dust cover.
  3. Place a record on the turntable platter.
  4. Select the appropriate speed (33, 45, or 78 RPM) using the speed selector switch. For 45 RPM records, place the included adapter on the spindle.
  5. Gently lift the tone arm using the cueing lever and position the stylus over the desired track. Lower the tone arm slowly onto the record. The turntable will start spinning automatically.
  6. At the end of the record, the tone arm will automatically return to its rest position (semi-automatic function).

6.3 CD Player Operation

  1. Select the CD function.
  2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
  3. Place a CD (audio CD or MP3 CD) with the label side facing up into the tray.
  4. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray. The unit will read the disc.
  5. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback. Use the SKIP buttons (◀◀/►►) to navigate between tracks.

6.4 Cassette Player Operation

  1. Select the TAPE function.
  2. Insert a cassette tape into the cassette slot on the side of the unit.
  3. Press the PLAY button to begin playback.
  4. Use the FAST FORWARD and REWIND buttons to navigate the tape. Press STOP to end playback.

6.5 Radio Operation

  1. Select the RADIO function.
  2. Rotate the TUNING knob to select your desired AM or FM station.
  3. Adjust the antenna for optimal reception.

6.6 Bluetooth Operation

  1. Select the BLUETOOTH function. The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth indicator.
