4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your dash cam system.

4.1 Micro SD Card Preparation

  1. Insert SD Card: Insert a Class 10, U3 speed Micro SD card (up to 256GB, not included) into the TF card slot.
  2. Format SD Card: Before first use, format the Micro SD card within the dash cam's settings menu. This ensures compatibility and optimal performance.

Note: Only use recommended Sarmert SD cards (ASIN: B0C787PFMD) or SAMSUNG Class 10, U3 Speed micro-SD cards. Avoid generic or unverified cards from third-party sellers.

4.2 Front Camera Installation

  1. Clean Windshield: Choose a location on your windshield, preferably behind the rearview mirror, that does not obstruct your view. Clean the area thoroughly.
  2. Apply Electrostatic Film: Apply one of the provided electrostatic films to the chosen area on the windshield. This helps protect your windshield and makes removal easier.
  3. Attach Magnetic Holder: Peel the adhesive backing from the magnetic holder and firmly press it onto the electrostatic film. Hold for 30 seconds.
  4. Mount Front Camera: Attach the front camera to the magnetic holder. The magnetic design allows for easy connection and detachment.

4.3 Rear Camera Installation

  1. Position Rear Camera: Mount the rear camera on the rear windshield, ensuring a clear view.
  2. Route Cable: Connect the rear camera cable to the front camera's rear camera port. Route the cable neatly along the vehicle's headliner and A-pillars using the provided cable clips and pry tool.
  3. Adjust Angle: The rear camera supports flexible rotation for optimal viewing angle.

4.4 Power Connection

  1. Connect Power Cable: Plug the Type-C USB cigarette lighter power cable into the dash cam's USB-C port and the other end into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
  2. Secure Cable: Route the power cable neatly to avoid interference with driving.

Important: The dash cam requires continuous power from the cigarette lighter port to operate. It will automatically turn on and start recording when the vehicle starts.

The Sarmert M572 features 5G/2.4GHz dual-band WiFi for high-speed transmission and remote control via the "OMBAR" app.

  1. Download App: Download the "OMBAR" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). If the app cannot be downloaded, scan the QR code provided in the product images or visit blackview4g.com/oncam.html.
  2. Activate Dash Cam WiFi: Turn on the Wi-Fi function on your dash cam via its settings menu.
  3. Connect Phone: On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings, find the dash cam's Wi-Fi network, and connect to it.
  4. Open OMBAR App: Launch the OMBAR app. You can now preview live video, play recorded footage, download files to your phone, and share videos.

Note: The Wi-Fi effective distance is approximately 25 feet. Live remote viewing is not supported. The preview mode supports 1080P; to view 4K recorded video, it must be downloaded first. Do not plug or unplug the rear camera during use.
