2. Setup
2.1. Winding the Watch
Your Spinnaker Bradner watch is equipped with a Seiko NH35 automatic movement. This movement is self-winding, meaning it powers itself through the motion of your wrist. However, if the watch has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period, it may require manual winding to initiate operation.
- Ensure the crown is in the fully pushed-in position (position 0).
- Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times. This will provide sufficient power reserve to start the watch.
- The watch also features hand-winding capability, allowing you to manually wind it without wearing it.
2.2. Setting the Time and Date
- Setting the Date: Gently pull the crown out to the first click (position 1). Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement. Once the correct date is displayed, push the crown back to position 0.
- Setting the Time: Pull the crown out to the second click (position 2). The second hand will stop (hacking function). Rotate the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time. To ensure accurate time setting, synchronize with a reliable time source. Push the crown back to position 0 to restart the second hand and secure the setting.

3. Operating the Watch
3.1. Internal Bi-directional Rotating Bezel
The Spinnaker Bradner features an internal bi-directional rotating bezel, controlled via the second crown located at the 2 o'clock position. This bezel can be used to track elapsed time, similar to a traditional dive bezel.
- To operate the internal bezel, rotate the crown at the 2 o'clock position.
- Align the desired marker on the internal bezel with the minute hand to track elapsed time.
3.2. Water Resistance
This watch is water resistant to 180 meters (18 ATM), making it suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and light recreational diving. It is important to ensure both crowns are fully pushed in and secured before any water exposure to maintain water resistance. Avoid operating the crowns while the watch is submerged in water.

4. Maintenance
4.1. General Care
- Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures (above 60°C or below 0°C) or sudden temperature changes.
- Protect the watch from strong impacts or shocks.
- Avoid contact with chemicals such as solvents, detergents, perfumes, or cosmetic products, as they can damage the case, strap, or gaskets.
- If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth.
4.2. Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and sapphire crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water and direct sunlight to prevent damage and discoloration. Clean the strap with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary, then allow it to air dry completely.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1. Watch Not Running
If your automatic watch stops running, it may be due to insufficient power reserve. Manually wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise 20-30 times while it is in position 0. Wear the watch regularly to keep the automatic movement charged. A typical power reserve for the Seiko NH35 movement is approximately 41 hours when fully wound.
5.2. Inaccurate Timekeeping
Automatic movements can have slight variations in accuracy. If your watch is consistently gaining or losing a significant amount of time (e.g., more than +/- 30 seconds per day), it may require adjustment by a professional watchmaker. Factors such as strong magnetic fields or severe impacts can also affect accuracy.
