AFEXOA Digital Alarm Clock Model CH09-01 User Manual

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the AFEXOA Digital Alarm Clock Model CH09-01. This device combines a digital alarm clock with a colorful LED display, FM radio, dual alarm functionality, sleep aid features, and convenient USB charging ports. This manual provides detailed instructions to help you set up and use your new alarm clock effectively.

The AFEXOA Digital Alarm Clock is designed for ease of use and versatility. Key features include:

3. Setup

3.1 Power Connection

  1. Connect the provided AC power adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the alarm clock.
  2. Plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet. The display will illuminate.

3.2 Memory Battery Installation

The alarm clock includes a CR2032 button cell battery for time and setting backup during power outages.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Open the compartment cover.
  3. Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Time Setting

  1. Press and hold the 'Time Set' button (usually labeled with a clock icon) to enter time setting mode.
  2. Use the '+' and '-' buttons or the rotary dial to adjust the hour. Press 'Time Set' again to confirm.
  3. Adjust the minute using the '+' and '-' buttons or rotary dial. Press 'Time Set' to confirm.
  4. Select 12-hour or 24-hour format. Press 'Time Set' to exit.

4.2 Alarm Setting (Dual Alarms)

This clock supports two independent alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2).

  1. Press the 'Alarm 1' button (or 'Alarm 2' button) to activate or deactivate the alarm. The alarm icon will appear/disappear on the display.
  2. Press and hold the 'Alarm 1' (or 'Alarm 2') button to enter alarm setting mode.
  3. Adjust the alarm hour using the '+' and '-' buttons or rotary dial. Press the alarm button to confirm.
  4. Adjust the alarm minute. Press the alarm button to confirm.
  5. Select the alarm mode: Daily (Mon-Sun), Weekday (Mon-Fri), or Weekend (Sat-Sun). Press the alarm button to confirm.
  6. Choose an alarm sound from the 8 available options (e.g., radio, bird song, piano, soft music). Press the alarm button to confirm.
  7. Adjust the alarm volume (U01-U16). Press the alarm button to exit.

4.3 Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the 'Snooze' button (typically a large button on top) to temporarily silence the alarm for 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after this period. To turn off the alarm completely, press any other button.

4.4 FM Radio Operation

The alarm clock features an integrated FM radio with an extendable antenna for improved reception.

  1. Extend the antenna fully for optimal signal reception.
  2. Press the 'FM' button to turn on the radio.
  3. Press and hold the 'FM' button to initiate an automatic scan for available stations. The clock will scan and store stations within the 76.0-108.0 MHz frequency range.
  4. Use the '+' and '-' buttons or rotary dial to cycle through stored stations.
  5. To manually tune, briefly press the '+' or '-' buttons.
  6. Press the 'FM' button again to turn off the radio.

4.5 Night Light and Display Settings

The clock offers a customizable night light and display.

  1. Display Brightness: Press the 'Dimmer' button (often represented by a sun icon) to cycle through 4 levels of display brightness.
  2. Display Colors: The LED display supports 9 modes including white, red, green, blue, gradient, magic color, left/right gradient, up/down gradient, and yellowish. Refer to the specific button on your device for cycling through these modes.
  3. Night Light: Press the 'Light' button (often a bulb icon) to turn on/off the ambient night light. Press repeatedly to cycle through 8 colors and various dynamic modes.
  4. Night Light Brightness: Hold the 'Light' button or use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the night light brightness from 0% to 100%.

4.6 Sleep Aid Function

The sleep aid function helps you fall asleep with soothing sounds and an auto-off timer.

  1. Press the 'Sleep' button (often a moon icon) to activate the sleep aid.
  2. Use the '+' and '-' buttons or rotary dial to select from 8 sleep sounds (e.g., radio, lullaby, frog, chirping, rain).
  3. Press the 'Sleep' button again to set the timer duration (10 to 480 minutes). The sound and night light will automatically turn off after the set time.

4.7 USB Charging Ports

The alarm clock is equipped with two USB ports for charging your mobile devices. Simply connect your device's USB charging cable to one of the ports on the back of the clock.

4.8 Headphone Jack

For private listening of the FM radio or sleep sounds, connect standard 3.5mm headphones to the headphone jack located on the back of the unit.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the alarm clock, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish. Ensure the device is unplugged before cleaning.

5.2 Battery Replacement

The CR2032 memory battery should be replaced periodically (e.g., every 1-2 years) or if you notice settings are not retained after a power outage. Follow the instructions in Section 3.2 for safe replacement.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power/Display Off: Ensure the AC adapter is securely plugged into both the clock and a working wall outlet. Check the power source.
  • Alarm Not Sounding: Verify that the alarm is activated (alarm icon visible) and the alarm volume is not set to minimum. Check the alarm time and mode (daily, weekday, weekend).
  • Poor FM Radio Reception: Fully extend the antenna. Try repositioning the clock to a different location to improve signal. Perform an auto-scan to find available stations.
  • Time/Settings Lost After Power Outage: Ensure the CR2032 memory battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace the battery if necessary.
  • USB Charging Not Working: Ensure the clock is powered on. Check the USB cable and the device being charged. Some devices may require more power than the clock can provide.
