6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Food Box

Regular cleaning of the food box is essential to prevent food clumping and ensure proper dispensing.

  1. Remove the food box from the main unit.
  2. Empty any remaining food.
  3. Wash the food box with warm water and a mild, non-toxic detergent. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
  4. Allow the food box to air dry completely before refilling and reattaching to the unit. Ensure no moisture remains to prevent food spoilage.

6.2 Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator on the LCD screen shows low power, or if the feeder's operation becomes erratic, replace the batteries promptly. Refer to Section 4.1 for battery installation instructions.

7. Troubleshooting

Feeder not dispensing food:
Check if batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient power. Ensure the food box is not empty and that food is not clumped or jammed. Verify that the dispensing mechanism is clear of obstructions.
LCD screen is blank or flickering:
Replace the batteries with fresh ones. Ensure the battery compartment is closed securely.
Dispensing too much or too little food:
Adjust the portion size setting in the programming menu. Ensure the feed size is appropriate (up to 3mm) and not causing blockages or excessive dispensing. For smaller aquariums, consider using smaller feed types or fewer portions.
Feeder not mounting securely:
Ensure the tank rim thickness is within the 15mm limit for the clamp. For suction cups, ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry before application.
