Setup Guide

1. Power Connection: The MA01 can be powered via the USB connection to your computer. For stable operation or when not connected to a computer, use an external 5V DC Type-C power adapter with an output current of 3A or higher (not included). Connect the adapter to the "5V DC (TYPE-C) Power Input Jack" on the rear panel. Ensure the "USB Power" switch is set correctly based on your power source.
2. Computer Connection: Connect the MA01 to your computer using the provided USB cable. The interface is designed for plug-and-play operation with most modern operating systems (e.g., Windows). No specific drivers are typically required, but ensure your operating system is up to date.
3. Software Setup: Once connected, your computer should recognize the MA01 as an audio device. Select it as your input and output device in your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software or system sound settings.
4. Connecting Output Devices: Connect your studio monitors or active speakers to the "LINE OUTPUT" or "MONITOR OUT" jacks on the rear panel. Connect your headphones to the 6.35mm headphone jacks on the front panel.

Operating Instructions

1. Connecting Microphones and Instruments:
   • For microphones, connect via the XLR input on the combo jacks. If using a condenser microphone, activate the corresponding +48V phantom power switch on the front panel (and ensure the global +48V switch on the rear is ON).
   • For instruments (e.g., guitar, bass), connect via the 6.35mm TRS input on the combo jacks. Engage the HI-Z switch for the respective channel to optimize the input for high-impedance instruments.

2. Adjusting Input Gain: Use the GAIN knobs for each channel to set appropriate input levels. The SIG indicator lights will help you monitor the signal presence. Adjust the gain so the light illuminates consistently but does not clip (turn red).
3. Monitoring Audio:
   • Direct Monitoring: Press the MON switch to enable direct monitoring, allowing you to hear your input signal directly through the headphones or main outputs with zero latency.
   • Mix Control: Use the MIX knob to blend the direct input signal with the playback audio from your computer.
   • Headphone Volume: Adjust the individual headphone knobs to control the volume for each connected headphone set.
4. Loopback Function: The LOOPBACK switch allows you to route the audio output from your computer back into the interface's input, which is useful for streaming or recording computer audio alongside live inputs.
5. Output Volume: Use the MAIN OUT knob to control the overall volume of your connected speakers or monitors.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MA01 audio interface, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as they may damage the finish or internal components.

  • If using direct monitoring, ensure the MON switch is engaged.
• No Input Signal:
  • Check microphone/instrument cable connections.
  • Ensure the GAIN knob for the active channel is turned up.
  • If using a condenser microphone, confirm +48V phantom power is activated for the correct channels (both front panel and rear panel switches).
  • Verify the MA01 is selected as the input device in your computer's sound settings and DAW.
  • For instruments, ensure the HI-Z switch is engaged if applicable.
• Only 2 Channels Visible in Software:
  • While the MA01 has four physical input preamps, some software configurations or operating systems may only present a stereo (2-channel) input for mixing. This is a known characteristic of this model.
• Low Headphone Output or Loopback Volume:
  • Ensure headphone volume knobs are at maximum.
  • Adjust the MIX knob to favor the computer playback if the loopback signal is too low.
  • Check the output levels within your DAW or computer's sound settings.
