This system allows you to manage both landline and cellular calls through its cordless handsets, offering features such as Bluetooth connectivity and a Smart Call Blocker.

Getting Started: Setup
Follow these steps to set up your VTech IS8122-3 telephone system.
1. Unpacking and Component Check
Carefully unpack all items from the box. Ensure you have the following components:
- Main telephone base unit
- Three cordless handsets
- Three battery compartments (one for each handset)
- Three power adapters (one for the base, two for the chargers)
- Telephone line cord
- Wall mount bracket (optional)
2. Battery Installation
Install the battery pack into each cordless handset:
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
- Connect the battery pack connector securely into the jack inside the compartment.
- Place the battery pack with the label UP.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
- Place each handset in its respective charging cradle or the main base unit to charge for at least 10 hours before first use.

3. Base Unit Connection
- Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the telephone base.
- Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into a telephone wall jack.
- Plug the small end of the power adapter into the POWER jack on the back of the telephone base.
- Plug the large end of the power adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
- For the additional charging cradles, plug their power adapters into electrical outlets.
4. Connect to Cell Pairing
To use your cellular phone with the VTech IS8122-3 system, you must pair it via Bluetooth:
- Ensure your cellular phone's Bluetooth feature is turned on.
- On the VTech telephone base, press the CELL 1 or CELL 2 button (depending on which cell line you wish to pair). The indicator light will flash.
- On your cellular phone, search for Bluetooth devices. Select "VTech IS8122" when it appears.
- If prompted, enter the PIN (usually 0000) on your cellular phone.
- Once paired, the corresponding CELL indicator light on the base will glow steadily. You can pair up to two cellular phones.
Operating Instructions
Making and Receiving Calls
- Making a Landline Call: Press HOME/FLASH, then dial the number.
- Making a Cell Call: Press CELL, then dial the number. Select CELL 1 or CELL 2 if multiple phones are paired.
- Answering a Call: Press any dialing key (0-9, #, *) or HOME/FLASH for landline, or CELL for a cell call.
- Ending a Call: Press OFF/CANCEL or place the handset in the charging cradle.
- Speakerphone: During a call, press SPEAKER to activate the speakerphone. Press again to return to handset mode.
Smart Call Blocker
The Smart Call Blocker helps screen unwanted calls. When a call comes in, the system will announce the caller. You can then choose to answer, block, or send to the answering system.
- Blocking a Number: During a call or after reviewing Caller ID history, press CALL BLOCK to add the number to the block list.
- Reviewing Block List: Access the menu on the handset and navigate to the Call Blocker settings.
Caller ID and Call History
The system stores up to 50 names and numbers in the Caller ID history.
- Reviewing History: Press CID on the handset to scroll through recent calls.
- Calling Back: While viewing a Caller ID entry, press HOME/FLASH or CELL to dial the number.
Intercom
You can make intercom calls between handsets.
- Press INT on any handset.
- Dial the number of the target handset (e.g., 2 for handset 2).
- The target handset will ring. The recipient can press any key to answer.
Digital Answering System
The base unit includes a digital answering system to record messages when you are unavailable.
- Turning On/Off: Press ANS ON/OFF on the base unit.
- Playing Messages: Press PLAY/STOP on the base unit.
- Accessing from Handset: Navigate through the handset menu to "Answering System" to play, delete, or record announcements.
Siri/Google Now Access
When a cellular phone is paired and connected, you can access your smartphone's voice assistant (Siri or Google Now) through the cordless handset.
- Press and hold the VOICE button on the handset.
- Speak your command clearly after the tone.
- The system will relay the command to your paired smartphone.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Telephone
Clean the telephone base and handsets with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use cleaning sprays or liquid cleaners as they may damage the finish or electrical components.
Battery Care
- Keep the handsets in their charging cradles when not in use to maintain battery charge.
- If the battery indicator shows low charge, place the handset in the charger.
- Replace batteries when they no longer hold a charge effectively. Use only the specified battery type.
