Setup
1. Initial Charging
Your NIXON Time Teller Solar watch is powered by light. Before initial use, or if the watch has stopped, expose the dial to a strong light source (natural sunlight is ideal) for several hours. The watch will begin to operate once sufficient charge is accumulated. A full charge can provide power for up to 4-6 months in darkness.

2. Setting the Time
- Pull the crown (located on the right side of the watch case) out to the first position.
- Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
- Once the time is set, push the crown back into its original position to start the watch.

- Locate the Quick Adjuster buckle on the underside of the bracelet.

Operating Your Watch
Timekeeping
The watch operates continuously once sufficiently charged. The Miyota-2170 Japanese solar powered quartz movement ensures accurate timekeeping. The watch displays hours, minutes, and seconds.
Solar Power Functionality
The solar dial efficiently captures both natural sunlight and artificial ambient light to power the watch. Regular exposure to light is recommended to maintain optimal charge. Avoid prolonged storage in dark environments to prevent the watch from stopping.
Water Resistance
Your NIXON Time Teller Solar watch has a water resistance rating of 10 ATM (100 meters). This means it is suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling. It is not recommended for high-impact water sports or scuba diving. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any water exposure.

This image illustrates the water resistance of the NIXON Time Teller Solar watch, indicating its capability to withstand water pressure up to 100 meters (10 ATM), suitable for swimming and snorkeling but not deep-sea diving.
Maintenance
Cleaning Your Watch
To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth. For stainless steel, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Solar Panel Care
Keep the watch dial clean and free from obstructions to ensure efficient solar charging. Dust or dirt on the dial can reduce charging efficiency.
Water Resistance Checks
Over time, gaskets that ensure water resistance can degrade. It is recommended to have your watch's water resistance checked by an authorized service center every 2-3 years, especially if it is frequently exposed to water.
Troubleshooting
- Watch Not Running: If the watch has stopped, it likely needs charging. Expose the dial to bright light for several hours. The second hand may move in 2-second intervals initially, indicating a low charge, before returning to normal 1-second intervals once sufficiently charged.
- Time Inaccuracy: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in after setting the time. If the watch continues to be inaccurate after proper charging and setting, contact NIXON customer support.
- Bracelet Adjustment Issues: If the Quick Adjuster buckle is difficult to operate, ensure no debris is lodged in the mechanism. Refer to the bracelet adjustment instructions in the Setup section. Do not force the mechanism.
