Powering Your Radio
The PRUNUS J-366 offers five distinct methods to ensure continuous power, providing flexibility in various situations.

1. USB-C Charging
Connect the provided USB-C cable to the radio's input port and a standard USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, computer). This is the primary method for daily charging.
2. Hand Crank Power
Extend the hand crank handle from the side of the radio. Rotate the crank clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace (approximately 130-150 RPM) for 3-5 minutes to generate sufficient power for short-term use or to initiate charging of the internal battery.
3. Solar Panel Charging
Place the radio with its solar panel facing direct sunlight. The solar panel will slowly charge the internal battery. This method is most effective for maintaining charge or for emergency trickle charging in bright conditions.
4. Internal Rechargeable Battery
The radio is equipped with a built-in 7400mWh rechargeable battery, providing a reliable power source for extended operation. This battery is charged via USB-C, hand crank, or solar panel.
5. AAA Batteries
As a backup, the radio can be powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included). Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for instructions.
Charging External Devices
The PRUNUS J-366 can function as a power bank to charge your mobile devices using its integrated 3-in-1 charging cables. Simply pull out the appropriate cable (Lightning, USB-C, or Micro USB) and connect it to your device. The radio's internal 7400mWh battery will provide power.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, ensure the internal battery is partially charged (around 50%) and remove any AAA batteries to prevent leakage.
- Battery Care: Regularly charge the internal battery to prolong its lifespan, even if not in frequent use.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power | Internal battery depleted; AAA batteries not installed or depleted. | Charge via USB-C, hand crank, or solar. Install fresh AAA batteries. |
| Poor radio reception | Antenna not extended; weak signal area; interference. | Fully extend the telescopic antenna. Reposition the radio for better signal. |
| External device not charging | Radio battery low; incorrect cable used; device not compatible. | Ensure radio has sufficient charge. Use the correct integrated cable. Verify device compatibility. |
| NOAA Alert not working | Not in 'ALERT' mode; not tuned to a NOAA channel; no active alerts. | Set band to 'ALERT'. Tune to a local NOAA weather channel. Confirm active alerts in your area. |
