Setup and Initial Use

Charging the Device

  1. Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the charging port on the Acoustic Research Duo unit.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  3. Allow the device to fully charge before first use. Charging indicators (LEDs) will typically show charging status and completion.

A full charge provides up to 20 hours of playtime for the earbuds and 4 hours for the speaker.

Powering On/Off

  • Speaker: Refer to the device for the power button location. Press and hold to power on or off.
  • Earbuds: Earbuds typically power on automatically when removed from the charging case and power off when placed back into the case. Manual power on/off may involve pressing and holding the touch control area.

Operating Instructions

Bluetooth Pairing (Speaker)

  1. Ensure the speaker is powered on.
  2. The speaker will automatically enter pairing mode (indicated by a flashing LED).
  3. On your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "ARTWS35 Speaker" (or similar name) from the list.
  5. Once paired, the LED indicator will typically show a solid light.

Bluetooth Pairing (Earbuds)

  1. Remove both earbuds from the charging case. They will automatically enter pairing mode.
  2. On your device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "ARTWS35 Earbuds" (or similar name) from the list.
  4. Once paired, the earbuds will connect to your device.
  5. Single Earbud Mode: You can use either the left or right earbud independently. Simply remove one earbud from the case and pair it as described above.

The speaker and earbuds can be paired to two different Bluetooth sources simultaneously for independent use.

Earbud Touch Controls

The earbuds feature smart touch controls for various functions:

  • Play/Pause: Tap once on either earbud.
  • Next Track: Double-tap on the right earbud.
  • Previous Track: Double-tap on the left earbud.
  • Answer/End Call: Tap once on either earbud during an incoming call or active call.
  • Reject Call: Press and hold on either earbud during an incoming call.
  • Activate Voice Assistant: Triple-tap on either earbud (functionality may vary by device).

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the speaker and earbuds. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the earbuds in their charging case to protect them and keep them charged. Store the entire unit in a cool, dry place.
  • Water Resistance: This product is NOT waterproof. Avoid exposure to water or excessive moisture.

Troubleshooting

Device does not power on.Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect to a power source using the USB-C cable.
Cannot pair with Bluetooth device.
  • Ensure the device is in pairing mode (flashing LED).
  • Turn off and on Bluetooth on your source device.

  • Verify that the earbuds are correctly seated in their charging slots.
  • Clean the charging contacts on both the earbuds and the case with a dry cotton swab.
