5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the timer.
2. Slide the cover open.
3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Replace the battery compartment cover.

5.2 Power On/Off

After installing batteries, toggle the ON/OFF switch located on the back of the timer to the 'ON' position. The screen will display all numbers briefly, then show '00:00:00' and emit a 'ding' sound (if not in mute mode).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Setting the Count-Down Timer

1. Press the HOUR, MIN, and SEC buttons to set your desired count-down time. Long-pressing these buttons will increase the digits quickly.
2. Press the STOP/START button to begin the count-down.
3. To pause the count-down, press STOP/START again. Press it once more to resume.
4. When the timer reaches zero, it will alarm (audibly or visually, depending on mode) for 60 seconds.
5. Press any button to stop the alarm.

6.2 Using the Count-Up Function

1. Ensure the timer display is at '00:00:00'. If not, clear it first (see 6.3).
2. Press the STOP/START button to begin counting up from zero.
3. To pause the count-up, press STOP/START again. Press it once more to resume.

6.3 Clearing the Timer

In the paused state (either count-down or count-up), press the HOUR and MIN buttons simultaneously to reset the display to '00:00:00'.

6.4 Sound and Mute Modes

The timer features a switch on the back to select between audible (Ring Mode) and silent (Mute Mode) alarms. In Mute Mode, when the count-down reaches zero, the screen will flash, and the STOP/START button will blink to indicate time is up, without an audible sound.

7. Placement Options

7.1 Magnetic Backing

The timer is equipped with two strong magnets on its back, allowing it to be securely attached to any metallic surface, such as a refrigerator door or oven. This keeps the timer visible and easily accessible.

7.2 Retractable Stand

For non-metallic surfaces, the timer includes a retractable stand. Simply pull out the stand from the back of the unit to prop it up on a countertop, desk, or any flat surface.

8. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the timer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or the timer functions erratically. Always use 2 new AAA batteries.
• Storage: If storing the timer for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.

9. Troubleshooting

• Timer not turning on: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and fully charged. Check the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position.
• Alarm not sounding: Verify the sound/mute switch on the back is set to 'Ring Mode'. If in 'Mute Mode', the screen will flash instead of sounding.
• Display is dim or flickering: Replace the batteries with new ones.
• Buttons unresponsive: Try removing and reinserting the batteries to reset the device.
