Milk Frothing

The powerful steam wand allows you to create creamy froth and microfoam for cappuccinos, lattes, and more.

Figure 5: Using the Steam Wand

  1. Step 1: Prepare Milk. Fill a frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
  2. Step 2: Heat Steam Wand. Turn the control knob to the "STEAM" position (steam icon). Allow the machine to heat up until steam is consistently released from the wand.
  3. Step 3: Froth Milk. Submerge the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Turn the control knob to the "STEAM" position. Angle the pitcher slightly to create a swirling motion. Move the pitcher up and down to incorporate air and create foam.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your espresso machine.

Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Remove and empty the detachable drip tray after each use. Wash with warm soapy water and rinse.
  • Portafilter & Filter Basket: Remove used coffee grounds. Wash the portafilter and filter basket with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly activate the steam function to clear any internal blockages.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the machine in water.

Descaling (Monthly or as needed)

Over time, mineral deposits can build up inside the machine, affecting performance. Descale your machine regularly using a descaling solution or a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).

  1. Fill the water reservoir with the descaling solution.
  2. Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.
  3. Run half of the solution through the brewing cycle without coffee.
  4. Run the remaining solution through the steam wand.
  5. Rinse the machine by running two full reservoirs of fresh water through both the brewing cycle and the steam wand.
